I finally got the new Toyo open country AT3 tires mounted in the factory size. It’s been quite an adventure as the discount tire ordered them about eight weeks ago and, despite stopping in twice to check on them, didn’t have an update. Finally last week they called me to tell me they gotten them in about three weeks prior and because it been so long they lost track of who ordered them. they had to go into their database of customers in the area with Rivians to call each of them individually to see if they had ordered the tires.
My Pirellis were right at 3/64 so the timing could not have been more perfect. First thought was dang those tires look big when they rolled them out to mount. They used the pucks as required, but I will say that the R1S kicked the two employees backsides has they jacked it up and changed the tires.
I drove it home from the discount tire in Savannah, which is over 100 miles. First impressions were that they were way more quiet, but my other tires were at end of life. Second was I was averaging 2.23 in all purpose mode for the trip and that’s what I usually average in conserve mode . We shall see..
