Humm...I'm not seeing anything on Discount Tire or Tirerack. Anyone aware of a 22" winter tire option?

I'm hoping Rivian decides to start selling wheels and I'll get 20s with winter rubber, since the Nokian R5s don't seem to be available anywhere I can find.

Be careful when looking for non-OEM tires, particularly for the Rivians, as they are very heavy and deliver a lot of torque. I suspect Rivian and Pirelli made adjustments to the standard tire to get better rolling resistance and strength.

But, if you're adventurous, you can always try similar sizes. I like using www.tiresize.com for finding related sizes.

On Tire Rack, searching for Rivian by vehicle, the winter tires were 20's.

@bkswede addressed this issue in a different thread, and said the Service Center guys told him he'd be able to buy extra 20" wheels through the Service Center. Eventually they'll be available through the gear shop. But they encouraged him not to do that yet; to try out the 22's with the traction control feature.

Tire rack doesn’t currently list any winter tires in the 22” size rivian uses, but they do exist as that size is not uncommon on other trucks/SUVs.

and for people worried about speed ratings, my car came with winter tires from factory, which were supplied with stickers to note the maximum speed when using the winter tires, which have a much lower speed rating than the summer ones.

Just had my 275/50R22 Michelin X-Ice tires installed today - huge improvement over the stock Pirelli 22s which were at 5/32” after 11,500 miles. They look great and also eliminated my slight pull to the right. 115H load rating no issue for Discount tire. Excited to get these up to the high country!
