I really just want to enable the rear motors more often for when I am turning or using full regen. Maybe any time I put on my turn signal, or use more than a certain percentage of regen. I didn't like the front drive bias but want the energy efficiency for most of the time in going straight. I...
You know, you make a couple good points. First, I asked the OP about hard braking, but I don't know if I've ever done a panic stop. I usually leave enough gap that I modulate between getting rear ended and rear ending someone.
Second, when I have just pushed down on the brakes at a stop, they...
This is great to know. Thanks for sharing.
I buy grippy tires for the fun, but I justify it for the safety. How's the emergency braking performance and the cornering speed compare?
I found this interesting and related to this discussion. It describes the math equations behind the tarrifs:
https://www.npr.org/2025/04/03/g-s1-58094/tariffs-price-raises-economists
I think it's interesting to think about tariffs as similar to VAT. I wonder what you all think about using the money from the tariff's to reduce taxes? It seems very possible, but it also seems like the current leaders will more likely distribute the tax rebates to the higher tax brackets. Has...
I assume you are on 22" rims?
I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback for how they compare to the M/S2 tires as well. I was considering those (or my stock MS) tires for winter use.
I too am looking for the grippiest tires for the season.
I know this is a bit of an old thread. But, has any one heard about availability updates? My guess is that it won't be available until the 2025 quad motor is released. I'm looking for more grip for this summer than the stock AS tires.
A normal 120V plug is limited to 1800W = 15A. The Rivian is limited to 1500W ~= 12.5A. So, it's just a little less than the max of a normal plug.
Generally that limit would only be seen when using too many devices on a single plug or having resistive heating like a space heater or trying to...
Mint Mobile is fine. I suspect my data is deprioritized. But, I don't tend to use much data when I'm out. And, it's never been a problem.
Some years ago when I had Fi, it was very nice when travelling in Japan. I didn't need to get local service. It was also nice when it could access via...
The HW solution is interesting. But I don't understand how you're saving money. What Google Fi plan are you paying for?
$149.99 per year to get unlimited data from Rivian seems like a pretty good deal.
I've got the cheapest Mint Mobile plan at $15/month for 5GB. I had Google Fi, but this is...
Yes, that's what I do. But it's hard to find when I'm outside the vehicle and I can't get the ones on the other side of the vehicle, which is important when helping in the 3rd row.
I have my Rivian setup not to lock at home because I keep it safely in my garage. But, then it does a couple things that seem weird.
1. It keeps the lights on the handles (for a long time, but I don't know how long).
2. It doesn't turn on the lights when I open the doors.
This second issue is...
Remember that grip is important too! I'm regularly surprised at how seemingly everything except grip is discussed with these discussions. Unfortunately, the better grip usually leads to lower efficiency. I'd really like to see some 70-0 brake tests and skid pad for all the main tire options in...
That looks great! Now can you make some caps to fill in the NACS port opening so things don't fall into there when it's in the center console? Maybe just big enough to fill the port opening with a little handle to pull it out?
I just got my check in the mail for my refund. That was really quick!
FYI: I didn't send a copy of the binding agreement. I used this text in the Explanation of Changes
Filing in accordance with Internal Revenue Bulletin No. 2023-16, page 749,
Which describes section 13401(l) of the Inflation...
OP, please let us know if this resolves itself. I would forgo all other modes to keep sport mode all the time, but I don't want a broken vehicle. Are there any other things not working?
I found that my vehicle seems to keep it in Snow mode when I turn that on. So, that's how I can keep it in...
That thread started before Standard Audio existed.
I saw another thread where people were trying, and they found the subwoofer signal wires, but they weren't activated, which is what I would expect. In the SW, they'd decide where to send the audio signals.
Was it added to a standard audio? Or was it upgraded from the premium? I know they've been successful with upgrading a premium sub-woofer. But, I hadn't seen anyone successful with the standard audio adding a subwoofer.
I suspect that the differences between the standard and premium is the 3D surround speakers and a subwoofer. Some think it sounds better with the 3D surround turned off. But, last I heard, no one has figured out how to add a subwoofer. The subwoofer is okay, but not as deep or strong as some...
