Based on the video, your front right tire hit the divider almost head on and the impact caused by the 7000 lb weight and speed basically tore off your tire and caused damage to your suspension and frame. It is a collision, not a flat tire.

The “road side metal” is actually the narrow side of the road divider. Talk about burying the lede?

Now that I read through and watched the video (missed that the first time), reminds me of that video series "Customer States"

Glad no one was hurt - oddly, the vehicle looks so steady when ripping off the front end I'd say that's a pretty big positive!

Did you watch the video? There is no blowout - it’s an impact an impact with the damn barrier.
Ah, I missed that one of the items in the media list was a video. Yeah, *VERY* clearly impact-with-barrier. Maybe there was a flat that caused the driver to veer into the barrier; but that impact with barrier is absolutely what is actually responsible for the "totaling" level of damage.

And yeah, "tire cut by a road side metal" my @$$ if OP is claiming that impact is "tire cut by a road side metal." That ain't "tire cut by a road side metal," that's "ran off the road into a crash barrier."

I watched the video, going around the corner tight to the white line, looks like right after passing the yield sign they probably checked over their left shoulder to merge into traffic and drifted rigt into the barrier. I think the blowout was because of the impact not the other way around.

Good luck to OP getting this straightened out, hope it goes well and they can repair not total the vehicle.

After watching the video, I'm surprised OP wasn't yeeted into the left lanes, turtle-style. The truck exhibited an impressive amount of composure considering they clipped a solid concrete divider.

Had that been a standard angled jersey barrier you would’ve been on your side or upside down after that impact; that dissipating barrier sure did its job admirably.

That was not due to the flat tire, it was due to you clipping the barrier. Tearing the components off the suspension is never a good thing but when its an EV with exorbitant repair pricing it's very bad and may be totaled.

Ooh, good catch - TIL how a Jersey Barrier works by not yeeting a Rivian 3 lanes to the left upon impact.

I wish I would have seen the video before my first comment. Where do you get off saying you "hit a piece of metal" and got a "flat tire that totaled your truck". Talk about minimizing the severity of your accident. You hit a FREEWAY BARRIER because you weren't paying attention and were clearly over the line. That sort of barrier is strong as it's supposed to protect you from getting skewered by the concrete wall you would hit without it.

This post is right up there with "the vehicle took off in a parking spot by itself" type BS. Shame on you OP.
