I know it's just a marketing short...but the video of the rear insinuates that the tailgate is power lift as well as power close. This is counter to what has been previously shown.

Can anyone who saw the R2 at SXSW confirm one way or the other?

I'm pretty sure it's been power close the whole time. And there's been a button visible on the inside for closing the tailgate in various preview videos.

So, if I understand the concerns expressed, some are concerned that the R2 may not have enough interior space in various places (frunk, leg room, head room, tail gate, cargo, etc.), but are also concerned that the R1S is too large, too expensive, too tall, and too long to fit in their garage.

Can you help Rivian with more specific guidance on what exactly you want? at what price, with what range, with what power?

If the R2 is too small, why not consider a used R1S?

To determine whether we can downsize, the most important cargo item is the pop up canopy for soccer games... will that fit in the back of the R2 without putting second row down... ?

I like all those R2 numbers. A nice balance; only 4.1 cu ft less cargo capacity than my Model X but much easier to park.

The outside dimensions are very similar to my Porsche Macan. Given that the rear is boxier than the sloping roof of the Macan, I am pretty sure that my dog will be pleased.

JET’s has a Detroit-style rectangular pizza that would fit in there just fine.
