I’m scheduled to pick up VIN 2383 next Friday. I too am crossing my fingers for a good delivery. I live 170 miles from the SC so I feel like I’m rolling the dice.

I'm curious if they go back to the factory for replacement parts or check around at local service centers first for a quicker repair time. It could be they don't have local stock of R2 items yet?
I work in logistics and sustainment both while in the Coast Guard and now commercially and recognize how hard it is to predict failure rates for parts.
Sorry to hear about your delay too. Hope they can get a quick repair for you!

On Friday I was notified the parts would arrive on Tuesday 11 Aug, they would be installed on Wed and my pick up is scheduled for Thrusday 13 Aug. I wasn't given any more details on what the part is, it seems like a week is a long time to get a part. Hopefully it comes in early and I can move up a day or so.

My R2 arrived at the Colorado Springs service center on Tuesday 8/4. They reached out to schedule delivery for 8/8. Everything looked good until yesterday around 5:30pm when they reached out saying that pick up may need to be rescheduled since they have not had time to complete final inspections. They said it may still be able to be picked up, but they would let me know.

Today at 10am they let me know that we would need to reschedule. They indicated that tentatively it might be ready by next Saturday 8/15, but they should know more in the next few days. The last minute switch is frustrating, but hardly the end of the world. Also, a week seems like a long time just to complete an inspection, so I am pressing to understand if something else is going on.

This is a great question: are demo R2s just first production allocated for demos or are there design differences between them?

I did not really notice much other than the seats, and it seems like the suspension and noise are a bit better. The suspension could have an update to active damper settings. Then again, I was not taking a mental note of the differences... Also want to give a big shout out to significantly better AC system than in my R1T and R1S.

One data point I forgot to note, I did not receive my crossbars or cargo cover at delivery (which was expected). No indication on when they will ship. I'm assuming I'll get notice from the gear shop at some point, hopefully soon.

Also, I only received one key card which was warped. The cards are on back order and I'll be able to get two new ones when they get more in.

I did not notice any differences between the demo I was in, it was a mid 300 vin, and the vehicle we picked up, it is a 1915 vin.

I was told my charging adapters would be delivered with the R2 but the sun shade and screen protector would be delivered 2 weeks later. I’m curious as to when the 2 weeks starts, with original delivery or actual delivery.

Good call out on the seats. The production models have much more cushion and are very comfortable. I was worried after driving the demo back in June but it felt fantastic on the drive home today.

Mine was also on 2026.24.40.

They offer up to 84 months but I was doing a shorter term, 36 or less. The rate is still pretty good for up to 60 (I believe 4.29). I think at 72-84 its like 5.99 which honestly is competitive if you want a much longer term.

Also, opening up an account is super simple so don't let that deter you. You just need to keep a few dollars in there to keep it open if its not your primary account.

NFCU has the best rates I’ve seen and I had a car loan with them before so I got preapproved for this one. How did the process with Rivian go for you using NFCU? Any hiccups?

There was minor hiccups in my situation as I had an existing loan at NFCU that was being paid off. Once I figured that out and had the guide in Tempe call them, everything was smooth sailing. NFCU makes things pretty easy. I'm pleased with their processes and customer service.

Scheduled to pick up VIN X5578 this coming Saturday, 8/15/2026. The process moved faster than expected!

I have VIN 2800 something. First pickup date with Tempe was 8/1. Pickup canceled at 4:45 p.m. on 7/31 for a "broken part." They rescheduled for 8/7 at 2:00 p.m. At 12:30 p.m. on 8/7, pickup was canceled due to a "bent charge pin" that was discovered when they installed the replacement part. No ETA for the new charge port harness.

It's been sitting in Tempe at least a week, if not more, so not sure why this wasn't found until the very last minute. Pretty disappointed with the Tempe SC, who are generally really wonderful and great.
