Delivery for today got postponed yesterday at 4:30 PM for an issue with a drive unit component. A part has to be ordered so delivery is now TBD. Glad they found it before I took delivery or during delivery. Ironically, at 4:30 I was telling my boss I'll be out in the AM, I felt I was so close.

I'm in the same boat. I was supposed to take delivery today, but they let me know yesterday that they identified parts that need to be replaced. I am delayed about a week. Bummer, but also glad they found them before delivery instead of during/after.

I'm curious if they go back to the factory for replacement parts or check around at local service centers first for a quicker repair time. It could be they don't have local stock of R2 items yet?
I work in logistics and sustainment both while in the Coast Guard and now commercially and recognize how hard it is to predict failure rates for parts.

Curious you both have the same builds with VINs not terribly far off from one another. Probably production batching, wonder if it's the same parts needing replacement and we'll see more of this.

Has anyone that has ordered an R2 on or before 7/8 NOT received their VIN yet? I ordered on 7/8 (Launch Green, 20" AT) and am still waiting on a VIN. Just curious if others are in the same boat.

Ordered July 8 VIN assigned Aug 1. Delivery scheduled 8/26. Launch Green w/ 21’s

Update: Delivery appointment scheduled - Tuesday, 8/11/26

Completed remaining tasks

VIN #2698 - CC with 21" all-season tires. Order placed on 08/01/26, original reservation date - 3/7/24.

From Order to pick up in 10 days. Must be a cancellation or a VIN that was held back for repairs?

I'm curious if you had gotten the delivery estimate updated from Rivian prior to ordering or did the invite to order come in while the estimate was still listed as Aug/Sept?

Just received the dreaded call from Rivian about the PDI and part failure. Delivery was supposed to take place tomorrow and has been pushed to 8/11 now.

They informed me that a zonal computer is not passing spec and that the part has been ordered. I am sad it was pushed but also glad it was caught and being taken care of.

I got an email in early July telling me my invite was getting pushed up to the early part of August... I don't have a delivery estimate yet, as I just confirmed my order yesterday.

I have a scheduled delivery for 11th next week but have been stalling and stalling, waiting for the MyFirstEV rebate to kick in here for CA, only to find out Rivian will only apply it to their R1 models right now. No point in waiting for it anymore so I'll just pick it up Tuesday.
