It's cheaper to skip fossil fuels and go straight to solar & battery. Countries with existing coal/gas infrastructure are still going to burn fossil fuels, but countries without much existing infrastructure are skipping right to solar + battery.You must be expecting to live 125+ years.
As mentioned above, this is an unrealistic expectation. The fossil fuel producers are large and powerful and are not going to just give up. There are transportation vehicles that require large amounts of energy that will be around for a long time. Cargo ships have a lifespan of 30 to 50 years. SMR Nuclear ships for commercial use are in the earliest stage of prototypes and won't be viable for another 10 to 15 years. Fossil powered ships will continue to end of useful life.
Third world countries have vast areas with no electrical power distribution. Solar will not provide sufficient energy for EV domination due to cost of solar build out at scale. Fossil fuels for transportation will continue to be relied upon for decades by these countries.
China changed the game. The same steps the west took are going to look much different for Africa....etc.
