I was there yesterday for a 2nd 12V battery failure in a week and he said they still hadn't delivered any, but he thought they "might be getting ONE" next week. Sigh.

I tried to have my delivery switched to there but everyone told me Pittsburgh still wasn’t in their system for deliveries the week after the 3rd, and by the end of that week my car was already headed to Cleveland.

I think the concern is fraudulent use, like insurance fraud or VIN cloning, but it's just as easy to make up an R2 VIN so why would any individual here be targeted specifically?

Because it is considered PII both in the US and EU, it's a real isse for some people, so much so that there are laws in most countries protecting PII.

Just yesterday I used a web service that automatically ***** out the VIN of vehicles.

So I am not surprised some people using aliases online also do the same to hide their VIN.

I agree that blocking the last two is better than blocking what are now leading zeros, unfortunately the form didn't allow for that.

Denver SC texted yesterday and said my R2 left the factory yesterday morning and they'd have a better idea on delivery timing when it was closer to the SC but the rough ETA was 2nd week of August.

Hello, first time poster here.

I reserved day 1- 3/7/2024 later in the evening. I received my invite to order on 6/16/2026 and I placed my order on 6/17/2026 after looking at an R2 in person.

I am a currently leasing a 2025 R1S Dual Large (since 12/2024) with the lease ending this December 2026. It looks like I'll be paying a few months of lease payments after delivery of the R2. I am purchasing the R2.

There is a recently opened service center 2 miles from my house here in upstate NY.

The R2 is Launch Green with 20" wheels

I finally got the "It's time to begin the purchase process" email! I am assigned VIN 47xx. No scheduled pickup date yet.

Update for my glitch in the matrix.

was to pick up mine today, but back on the 21st it was canceled for undisclosed issue with the vehicle. New VIN issue on the 22nd. R2 on a carrier today. Revised pickup date is now 7/29.

Pretty happy with their quick resolution.

Now, if I could just stop buying accessories. Lol

Updates on my order. Wondering if people are buying Rivian Care with the R2. The cost is roughly $3k here in WA state for +4 years with $500 deductible when adding to the order now. I have a few weeks to decide so wanted to see if others are planning to purchase this coverage.

Rivian care was not offered in California even though it says it is. Will probably add it when available, although the R2 has significantly less things to break and all the major stuff is covered. The R1 needs it primarly for the suspension.

I was under the same impression as Rivian Care has been offered to me throughout my purchase process but I thought Arizona was not an included state. Even the guide confirmed when I asked that it was NOT available in Arizona. Based on a screenshot someone posted on Twitter, it seems like the states on the covered list has changed quite a few times recently and that information has not been disseminated to all guides.

Took me awhile to make an account and give an update on how they're sandbagging me. I received an email a few weeks back saying I won't even be able to order until December of this year and up to February of 2027. Ouch! My reservation was placed way back in December of 2024. Very disappointing - couldn't be more bummed out about it. I'm near Seattle and have had the launch package configured from they day they opened configuration with just about all options chosen and black paint. And how come there's no extra incentives for Tesla trade-ins?! Seems like a missed opportunity. What do I have to do to get rid of this swasticar?? Anyway, cheers to everyone that got their VIN and a quick turn-around!

Why dont you get a trade in for a Tesla? Why would they. Elon would just manipulate the price to F with rivian. Again. You know nothing of the wait that the R1 guys had. Mine was 3 years, some guys were closer to 5.

We're getting the standard Rivian Care, but not the Preferred version. We're in Washington state and it was listed as one of our purchase steps, even though state wasn't yet shown on the Rivian site's list.

We are also thinking standard (VSC). I have added the 4 years option with $500 deductible for now. My pickup is not until Aug 26th, so I have bit of time to decide. It sounds like a worthwhile option if we keep the car long term.

Interesting turn of events. Just got an email from Rivian stating my delivery has been canceled because my VIN was changed. Logged into the account and sure enough, no more VIN attached to the account. I assume I will need to re-do all the pre-purchase steps I had done.
