I hate to keep harping on this, but Apple Music offers, as far as I know, every tunein and iHeart Radio station; so you can use a single app if you subscribe to Apple Music.
It's a great point that bears repeating. TuneIn, iHeart AND Audacy stations and podcasts are all available through Apple music with no need for separate accounts for those services. TuneIn includes loads of international channels as well, all the BBC stations, Classic FM, RTÉ Radio... It's easy to play stations via Siri - will be curious how good Rivian Assistant will be at surfacing these stations.

For those of us who like sports, all local baseball games are blocked from internet radio, so without an FM signal, you can't listen to a game without buying an MLB package.
I don't know if this tidbit gets enough attention. I can listen to a college football game using the regular FM radio in the R1T or just about any other vehicle, as long as I'm within range of the radio tower (which I typically would be). But if we get an R2 that won't be possible? That's going be annoying.

Welcome to page one of this thread ;) There're 26 pages explaining that there is no FM radio - but you can get most every station in TuneIn and iHeart.
of course you can, but sports' broadcasts , namely NBA, MLB and others are blacked out from these sites. Try to listen to an MLB game today and you'll experience the loop recording on all internet radio links. One must purchase the subscription from MLB or NBA and use their app.

I'm just happy to have no shark fin on the roof - less worry in low clearance garages - haven't listened to terrestrial radio in years - streaming and podcasts FTW

that's great. but for those of us who listen to sports' broadcasts in our cars, it forces us to pay for another subscription

I get that - but I don't think it's universally true anymore. For example, here in Minnesota on KFAN the Timberwolves and Vikings games are no longer blacked out on their stream. I'm sure it's dependent on each market and the radio ownership (KFAN is iHeart). I'm not a fan of damn near everything demanding it's own streaming fees either, but it's the current state of things.

I get that - NFL was that way but seems like you can get local NFL games via the station's local stream, or some sort of geo-fenced stream online. I'm not a fan of damn near everything demanding it's own streaming fees either, but it's the current state of things.
bottom line is that in general, engineers and those in the C-suite don't listen to sports

that is correct, however none of the teams I follow fall in that category . you won't get a Twins game today on a stream except for MLB app

Twins? Are you a sadist? ;)

Seriously though, WCCO and the games are supposed to be streaming available on Audacy, which is available in Apple Music - FWIW.

I assure you that I have been reading the entire thread. The only person that pointed out sports blackouts was the one I quoted, and no one else seemed to have carried on that topic.

I have the iHeart app on my phone. The station that carries the football game is in there. But what I have experienced in the past is that while at home, if I get into my truck, I can listen to that station and hear the game being broadcast. But if I try to listen to that using the iHeart app on my phone, I get the blackout. Unless Rivian & iHeart have worked out some kind of arrangement where streaming to the truck can work around blackouts I see this is a problem, just like the people who live/adventure outside of cell reception area.
