Yeah I did that on purpose, my bet is on 30pp.

Supposedly, it became a conflict of what US reg's require for illuminated surface area of the signal vs Euro regulations which allow smaller signals. I'm guessing they made up their minds about the design look they wanted and compromised with this option so that they could do a dual light in Europe and have the same housing for USA.

My 2004 Volvo and 2011 Sienna have amber turn signals. Interestingly, Volvo removed amber rear turn signals from SPA1 cars to prioritize light fixture design over safety. But they seem to be pivoting back w/ latest (bug-ridden) launches.

Yeah did my test drive yesterday with two tall, teenage knuckledraggers fitting nicely in the back seat. R2 remains at the top of my watch list for late-summer 2027/MY28. But I'd prefer a steel roof, physical switchgear, onboard AM/FM/XM receivers, and AT tires w/ 3PMSF.

You can get AM stations on TuneIn in the R1 and R2.

I know that this has been a long thread on the reliance on apps to replace broadcast radio. Has anyone considered ATT's partnership with AST SpaceMobile, which will provide direct-to-cellular satellite services to ATT devices, which should include the 5G service used by Rivian's Connect+? Once fully active, this should fill in the cellular dead zones cited by many detractors. AST has begun launching its satellites, so in the future, we should be able to have uninterrupted data services.

And FSD was solved 10 years ago, and has been every year since. (Lies by the world's richest man). Learned along time ago not buy on the promise, rather buy what exists today. And today there are large areas around me that have no cell coverage so a R2 will be a large FM radio fail.

I hate to keep harping on this, but Apple Music offers, as far as I know, every tunein and iHeart Radio station; so you can use a single app if you subscribe to Apple Music.

It's tricky to use your free account in the Rivian, the default options are to take the free trial but you don't have to do that - there's a totally free tier.
