For me, it's really no different than rebooting your home PC. They advise rebooting a home PC weekly. We don't get software updates that often but I feel it just gets a new version off to a good start and when users have a problem after a new install, reboot is the first thing they recommend. I just try to head that off at the pass, so to speak.

The vehicle reboots as part OTA update.

FWIW, I left the truck overnight and the issue went away. So, just a "sleep" and not a reset required. Never had that kind of alert 'spasm' before, and it happened immediately after the update so was fishing to see if anyone else had it too. Thanks for the comment.

Is 2026.15.01 a Gen1 update only? For my Gen2, I am currently on 2026.15.0. I have been notified that 2026.15.30 is available for update. I've seen no mention of 2026.15.01. Just curious.....
I asked the same thing yesterday. It makes sense that version numbers will have to diverge at some point. Just didn't realize that point was now. 😆

It's funny you bring this up. Today I got the same message on my drive home. There was a downpour happening at the time which I guessed might have had something to do with it. I did drive through a huge puddle right when the message popped up. But it did clear up on its own.

Good to hear it is resolved. Self healed 😉

I had the same experience. Installed the update last night, this morning it was going nuts, reset it thought it was good, but came back during my drive. A sleep also seems to have fixed it, hopefully for good.

This is not a new thing. It started two years ago when Gen 2 first started shipping. For example: https://rivianforums.com/forum/thre...date-are-rolling-out-for-gen1-and-gen2.31576/
The first reference to this pattern that I found was the 2024.23 release in July 2024.
Surprised you hadn't noticed this before @Oldsmobile_Mike, since they've done it at least half a dozen times since then.

Most of the time these days there is one release, but when they have hotfixes that are different for Gen 1 and Gen 2 they number them differently. The last number will be .1 for Gen 1 and .30 for Gen 2. If they have to do a second hotfix for the same release then it will increment to .2 for Gen 1 and .31 for Gen 2.

I had the exact thing happen to me yesterday. I noticed it on my drive home. When I parked I did a soft reset and then when I drove to work this AM it seemed to have resolved. I kept video and photos to be safe in the event a service appt ends up being needed.

I had exact same “front sensors off” warning constantly flickering on my drive to work this morning after SW update last night. Came here to see if anyone else had similar. Hopefully it will self correct with sleep or will try reset tonight.

Curious to see if the issue returns for anyone after appearing to go away after sleep.

So far 3 drives without it coming back, what a weird fluke, and for a bug fix release to introduce more bugs...

Like that's never happened in the tech/software world? It may be "new" for cars, but software-defined EVs are just computers that happen to be cars. TBH, get used to it. This is the new normal.
