This is exactly what I do. Works like a champ. Even if you only use 1 or 2 Tesla chargers, the membership pays for itself after the first charge session.
After years of driving a hybrid, you learn how to work it. No hard accelerations and do your best stay close to the speed limit. I use the ACC as much as possible figuring a computer can control my speed much better than I can control my foot.
And donāt get me wrong, I do have trips that are...
Thanks @VandalSibs & @VSG for your feedback. I think @VSG put it best..... "take it at face value" and don't overthink it š. I'll check out your previous threads. Thanks for including the hypertext.
Thanks for taking time to reply. I appreciate all of your feedback š.
I'm being a bit facetious when I say I must be missing something. I do understand what each value represents on the energy screen. I just don't understand the point of the black number in the middle of the pie chart. I...
Well I did switch it to kWh but in IMO it still gives a useless value.
I just donāt see the point in displaying energy used plus energy generated? To me it would be far more beneficial to just show you energy used and then perhaps in a separate line post energy generated. I guess Iām missing...
I think this is the first comment Iāve read where someone said something positive re the Pirelliās. I have the 22ās on my R1S and they have been great. Comfortable ride, very good range and good wear. I have 15k miles and all 4 tires are between 10-11/32. Essentially still new. I rotate every...
Yes, itās a bit tricky. I have had a few charge sessions that did this (none recent however). It was still P&C but it went on my Rivian account. Once you get the sequence dialed in, it seems to work just fine.
My 2025 R1S which I bought lightly used (3 mo. after delivery and 3,800 miles) had a misaligned charge port door. I had the exact same thought, how did this thing make it through final test or final QC? It was such an obvious outlier š¤¦āāļø. My second thought was why did the original owner accept...
Regenerative Braking Assist on Gen2ās is under āVehicleā >> āAutonomyā and it is the very last option in that menu.
Mine has been enabled since day 1. Rivian recommends keeping it enabled. I would be surprised if this feature caused excess brake wear, be it pads or rotors. I think driving...
You may have answered your own question based on how your Tesla rotors looked.
I completely hear you regarding your infatuation.
I have my own little story. My rear derailleur hanger on my nicest road bike somehow got bent and caused the derailleur cage to be slightly angled in towards the...
Donāt drive 70 mph, keep your max speed to 65 mph and that will make a big difference in your efficiency (miles/kWh value). Also, the R2 should be more efficient than the R1.
Iāve done two 2400 mile (round trip) road trips from N. Oregon to SoCal. I do the same as the OP, charge based on...
As some of the other posts noted, I guess there might be some differences between Gen1 & Gen2 when the brakes are applied via regen (rear vs front bias). I'm not sure if this is known or speculative. I would try to get a confirmation on those differences if they in fact do exist.
I do notice...
This is only a guess on my part but I would think unless there was a well know issue with the Gen1 rotors, they sourced the same part for Gen2's.
Many rotors are cast iron or alloys with a high iron content which means they rust easily. It is very common. Some manufacturer's put coatings on...
Well Iāve had my 2025 R1S DM set to max regen since day 1. I have somewhere north of 15,000 miles (24,000+ km). All 4 of my rotors still look brand new. I almost never touch the brake pedal. Picture is of the passenger side rear but representative of all 4.
Iām not sure I buy in to the max...
In the attached picture, the "Session Detail" shows a value of 18.9 miles. This is the sum of 10.5 miles (to propel the vehicle?), 1.5 miles (vehicle operation?) and 6.9 (drive regeneration total?). And, according to the Energy Use during drive, the actual distance driven was 17 miles with an...
Sorry to hear you had so many issues. Iām sure it distracted from having a relaxing and enjoyable trip. Definitely frustrating.
Although I agree with you that there are features I have no interest in and wish Rivian would focus their attention elsewhere, I must say your vehicle seems to be in...
