What’s Coming in Rivian’s 2026.15.30 Hotfix

• Rivian Assistant now uses the correct past, present, and future tenses when describing your events, making the conversation feel more natural.

Seriously? Reading private calendar events out loud, doesn't know the time so time based questions are answered wrong and can't use correct tense.......Just these issues are pretty basic stuff for an AI based assistant. If that doesn't meet my crappy criteria what does?

Now Rivian gets a pass for putting out substandard new features that don't work properly? Maybe they need to brick our vehicles again with an update......

And they have been fixed in a matter of weeks. It does many things well and you DON’T have to use it - it is optional. So either switch it off, or use it but cut the incessant whinging about software that was clearly highlighted as evolving/improving at launch.

The Riv crew still has a lot of room to grow, improve, from RA to the vehicles as a whole. But to all of those that will find something to complain about, even when valid, the Riv Team is still trying and seemingly listening to us. Agree. All my previous cars were ICE and what I drove off the lot was what I got for the life of the car. This is my first EV. Every update is X'mas day for me!

I have that "continue listening after replying" setting turned off. Regardless, asked her a question the other day. She responded, then I was cussing a blue streak at traffic. She listened to all of it and started adjusting my HVAC and all kind of other stuff.

Can y'all make it so she doesn't listen to my cussing?

If there isn’t, there should be. Then RA could only be activated via the steering wheel button.

Hotfixes address specific known issues/problems/bugs. Updates more broadly add new or revise existing functionality. This fits the definition of a hotfix, not an update.

I've been fairly happy with Rivian Assistant so far, maybe my expectations weren't as high as others. It's sure way better than Siri on the iPhone. I was driving somewhere last week and tried first with Siri to get assistance about the place I wanted to go and it kept doing the can't help you while you are driving sort of response. Switched to Rivian Assistant and got the answers I was looking for easily. I've tried using it with a few different controls and for the most part it's worked well. The only thing I've tried so far is to give me an odometer reading, which would be nice since that is normally buried in the touch screen menu.

OK so even Rivian realized it was a crappy "Rivian Assistant" initial offering. Not sure why they rushed to add all these features poorly executed only to update them all in a couple weeks. Should have just waited.

Sell your Rivian and move on. You're never going to be happy with it. It's nuts that anyone would be complaining about rapid improvements.
