No, he literally said three years between 2022 Gen 1 and 2025 Gen 2, then extrapolated to Gen 3 in 2028, another 3 years.They're talking about model year... not year of production. Either way... moot speculation.
Rivian didn't use model years initially. Gen 1 vehicles were actual years, not model years. The 2022 models were shipped in 2022. The 2023 models were shipped in 2023. The Gen 2 models started shipping in mid 2024. Gen 1 and Gen 2 were only two years apart. And it's already been another two years since Gen 2 started shipping.This would follow the 3 year cycle (gen1 = 2022, gen2 = 2025, gen3 = 2028)
My point is it wasn't three years, it was two, so the whole premise of the post (3-year cycle) was wrong.
