Of the videos I've watched today, the Carwow video was the best and really gets to the feel of driving the R2, the rest were more focused on trim and interior exterior.

I haven't read all 11 pages, but this part specifically is really great to see, implying 310 miles of range on a full charge in MKBHD's build which has the All-Terrain tires

The real meat was this portion of the CarWow video. Rivian said they still have some BMS work to do on the charging side, but it will achieve a peak of 240kW.

I've included screenshots of the preproduction charging curve 20-83%, which peaked at 190kW, before ramping down.

Great sleuthing. Here is the data table

That's awesome. If I can get ~250 miles with 80% charge with AT tires then I'll be super happy.

The R2 sounds amazing, to me! The one glaring misplay, for me, was the lack of physical, readily accessible, front and rear, interior door handles. I am very surprised, given all the recent controversy over this issue, that Rivian has decided to punt on this critical safety feature. Good luck to any person/child trapped in the rear seat in an emergency. C’mon Rivian - a hidden ripcord, really 😡 I suppose the owner can hand out emergency exit pamphlets to any uninitiated rear seat passengers. Or, the driver, prior to launch, could give an instructional presentation like one would get on a commercial airlines flight.

It amazes me how much out existing R1's collect leaves in the roof channels and surrounding the struts on the frunk - certainly more debris collection than any other vehicle we've owned - the only one I've ever semi-regularly used compressed air to blow leaves/pine needles out from
Amen. And the leaves disappear somewhere in the roof channel when you're washing it as well... who knows where they go. Popping the frunk to remove leaves is a part of my regular cleaning procedure as well with this vehicle.

I am betting this changes before launch.

I wouldn't hold your breath on this though. The R1 was praised early on for its on-center steering feel. Over the years this has been tweaked because owners didn't like it and it's not as good as it used to be. The average consumer doesn't want their daily driver to feel like a sports car, they want a GT cruiser.
Owners didn't like R1 steering?
I don't remember mass steering revolt...
Also, haven't noticed any changes in steering over past 2 years of ownership.
Maybe this was pre-2024?

One of the reviews I saw shows one in the front doors, rear is simplified but still not obvious. I’ll update this post if I find the spot where it was talked about.

Edit: It is the Jerry Rig Everything (JRE) review around the 6 minute mark he talks about the manual releases.

The charging session was from 19-83%. The screen said the R2 took in 39.1 kwh.

Also said 39.1 kwh was equal to 181 mile range.

While charging they flashed the drivers display, it read 74% was 215 mile range.

Was he charging the small pack?
