Help me understand the truck bed in the winter, tonneau cover options, and transporting skis

Last season I put skis in diagonal of the bed. Longer skis barely fit. And only for 1-2 pairs. I put a moving/packing blanket on the floor of the bed to prevent scratching the skis on the plastic bed floor This is my first truck I've owned. To be honest, for skis I think the R1S would be the...

Received my new 20" A/T's w/ Darks, had to test them out

@SpaceCase Looking good! Two questions: 1. What was the mileage on your 21's when you decided to replace? 2. Where did you buy the 20" ATs from? I don't see them on the Rivian gear shop Update: I just discovered that, although they only show an image of regular 20" ATs on the Rivian Gear Shop...

Do I Have a Real R1T? Rattles, cracks, creaks and vibrations

I mentioned that (and I imagine others do) because it's true -- it's a testament to the vehicle's many other compelling benefits, features and high-quality aspects that I still love the vehicle, despite the plethora of service issues mine has had. It's relevant for this topic of rattles to put...

Do I Have a Real R1T? Rattles, cracks, creaks and vibrations

Update x2 Brought the R1T into the service center again on Monday as the disturbing wheezing noise persisted for the past month or two. They confirmed an issue, this time with the rear drive unit, which they're now replacing. It's crazy to me that they ended up replacing the entirety of the...

Official Rivian Stories: R1T SOFTWARE UPDATE DETAILS - English - Version 2023.02.03

Sneakily high-value feature... This is fantastic. I hate currently having to repeatedly tap skip 15 sec button on the display to get through advertisements/commercials in podcasts

Do I Have a Real R1T? Rattles, cracks, creaks and vibrations

Update: After getting the front drive unit replaced, the clock clock has completely gone away, which is awesome While there, they did say that Rivian Engineering is working on a more permanent solution. I was left with the impression that this could very well happen again... There is still a...

Are the back seats of the R1T comfortable for adults for long trips?

Just drove across the country with two friends in my R1T. All of us rode in the back at various points and we were all comfy. I’m 6’0”

PSA: don't slam your gear tunnel doors!

It's unfortunate design that slow press is remarkably difficult. Also, the delivery specialist on day 1 specifically instructed me to slam it to close... Guess this isn't actually the intended method

Do I Have a Real R1T? Rattles, cracks, creaks and vibrations

Definitely file a service ticket. Mine has accumulated more and more noises over the 4-5 months of ownership. Upon delivery, I noticed the bird chirp noises from the suspension, which I've heard and read are among the most common and normal/expected I increasingly heard more mechanical...

R1T owner on pickup trucks vs. SUVs

For context, I'm not a pickup guy (have never needed one). I got the R1T because I loved the Rivian tech, driving capability, quality and brand. I'm a single guy and at the time felt that the R1S is mainly for families with kids, so I defaulted to the pickup truck. I absolutely love the Rivian...

    Rivian Blue?

If you like it from pictures, you'll love it in-person. I was on the fence as I've always had grey/silver/black vehicles, but it's only grown on me since having it. I get comments every week from people specifically liking the color.

    400 mi trip across Kansas/Missouri in R1T

400 trip across KS/MO. Starting temp of 15F ended at 39F, with typical Kansas wind. Drove 68 mph on 20’s averaged… 1.64 mi/kwh Seems… not great. Even for the cold and wind. But maybe it’s just what to expect. On the positives, after two days of driving from DC I have yet to have a single...

Blind spot in rear camera reversing view

I was backing into a parking garage spot, which has poles sticking out from the wall 2 feet into the space. They’re high enough where the rear bumper camera doesn’t show them when 5-6 feet away, but just low enough to hit the truck tailgate. This is a really silly parking space, and ultimately...

Are you good with Kneel mode height?

After trying kneel mode for a couple of days, I decided to disable it. I'm 6' so I can afford to. But personally I find the truck to feel awkward visually at low/lowest heights. Walking up to / away from the truck is the only time I really look at it from the outside.

What do you use your R1T bed for? (Picture Edition)

I transported the booze to my friend's wedding reception last weekend: I thought the amount of booze was aggressive, but it sure was a fun wedding

    People's Launch reactions

I'm curious how the vehicle handles this. I've not yet tried this as the idea feels gnarly, as if I'd create a ton of friction with the motors pushing directly on the brakes. Is the software smart enough to not do that when both pedals are pushed simultaneously, or are the brakes actively...
