why does Rivian make it impossible to purchase this reflector?

When I bought a left one, I told them I didn't need the "install" and that I'd install it myself. They removed the labor charge and just charged me for the part, but ended up installing it anyway while it was in the service center for a couple other things.

But yes, a service ticket asking to purchase the replacement part is all it should take, no need to set up a business account/etc.

Because you didn't ask the right question of the right people? Put in a Service ticket and ask about part purchase only. The ticket would get routed to your local SC and you'd be corresponding with SC staff from that point on. Or simply walk in to your local SC. Yes, you can just walk in. The doors aren't locked. They probably rather you don't, but what are they going to do? call security and kick you out? There's no security staff.

You can also keep an eye on eBay for salvage part-outs. You can also find salvage yards who have Rivians via web search. But... why when a new part is only about $25.

Tbh I don't think it looks that bad. But the way the crazy drivers are around me, I want all the visibility I can get.

Ha! I called them yesterday, and they quoted me $299 (!!) for the drivers side marker light LENS. Just the lens! I’d very much like to know how you’re getting it for less.

This may not help you given you want/need a new reflector but I did add this on top of the side reflectors to tone them down.
