I can envision scenarios where one would want to maximize range upon leaving home. To do this, you can precondition the HVB from inside the vehicle and not waste energy on the road. I think this option should also be available in the app.

I also agree that people should check their lug nut torque after a tire service. in my experience, these tire service people rarely get it right, or even close.
Or go to a tire shop that openly uses an actual torque wrench.

Sorry for the delayed update. I've got about 500 miles on the ElectroDrive AT's and I'm sitting at 2.29 m/kWh. Slight improvement over my lifetime 2.18 m/kWh. Still loving the tires compared to the Scorpion ATs. My truck is at the service center this week getting a Tonneau installed and having a few minor issues looked at.

Sounds on-par with Territory AT, just cost more and available in two sizes. Rate of wear should be about the same, since both have same UTQG.

The trouble with the built in trip meters is it includes idle time as far as I can tell. If I have some stationary - power outlets or HVAC use then the trip efficiency decreases dramatically.

Anyway, eager to see more photos of these tires!

Now it does. It didn't used to, only captured moving energy, which I liked more. It's made tracking and comparing harder to do, makes my tires seem worse than they used to.

Just a quick check-in. I just got back my R1T from having a V2 powered tonneau installed and several issues worked on, mainly some drivetrain and wind noise. They lent me another 2023 R1T Quad specced same as mine, so I got to do some more back-to-back-to-back comparison of the Goodyear Electrodrive ATs and the factory Pirelli 20in ATs (with ~20K miles).

Immediately getting in the loaner, the tire noise was unbelievably loud compared to the Goodyear's. I think you sort of get used to it when you just hear it all the time, but coming from my truck with the Goodyears to driving the loaner with the Pirelli's, the amount of tire noise was jarring.

Driving around, the Pirelli's are noticeably stiffer, both in a good and bad way. They have a harshness to them when going over bumps that the Goodyear's don't have. Also the Pirelli's translate the noise from bumps into the cabin, where the Goodyears it's barely noticeable. The Pirellis in corners feel more firm, not necessarily more grippy, just less sidewall flex it feels like. Now that I have my truck back, I find that I prefer driving on the Firm suspension setting with the Goodyear's, whereas that setting was too harsh on suburban/city streets with the Pirellis. Overall grip in corners seems like a wash between the two, but with what feels like more body roll on the Goodyear's compared to the Pirelli's on Moderate suspension setting. On Firm the Goodyear's feel perfect. One other note that I mentioned earlier, the steering feels noticeably lighter and more precise with the Goodyear's over the Pirelli's, which you would expect with the more road focused tread pattern.

After I got my truck back with the wind noise issues fixed and a fresh alignment, I was amazed at how quiet the cabin is with these tires. My wife, who doesn't notice such things, made a comment about how quiet it was when we went to dinner over the weekend. Overall, the Goodyear's have been a major upgrade over the Pirelli's in mostly driving comfort and noise, with what looks so far like a slight improvement in efficiency. I imagine wear will be much better as well. The Pirelli's win out in looks and better off-road performance, but if that's what your priority is, there are better options out there like the Toyo AT3's IMO.

These have UTQG of 580, same as the factory Goodyear. Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus are 640. And there are at least two posts saying their Territory ATs are done at 18k. So I doubt they will wear better than the Pirelli. Quieter no doubt and one can tell by the tread design alone. And one is an on-road AT while the other is a off-road AT (though at the light duty end of that category). So all observations are aligned with specs and classification.

Interesting to hear regarding wear on the Territory ATs. Like you said I would expect similar wear to those. Worth noting though that the Electricdrive AT's come with a 50K mile tread life warranty, so if they only last ~20K miles I'll get a 60% discount on a new set. Perhaps that's one of the reasons for the premium on these over the Territory AT's.

Thanks @AuburnRivian for the update on handling observations in back-to-back use versus the stock Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus. Good point about the treadwear warranty. It always seemed unlikely that a manufacturer would honor it for use on an EV. However, these are specifically designed as EV tires so I guess the warranty will actually be of use.

Might be worth reading said warranty and see what exactly is covered. The Territory AT RIV is a OEM variant, so it may be made to lower UTQG and not disclosed.

Great info, thanks for the update! These tires would be perfect if someone in the Goodyear marketing department hadn't insisted that they make the sidewall branding goofy as hell, ugh. I"m between these and the Toyo's. I had the Toyo's on my first R1T and they looked amazing, but wish they rode a bit smoother.
