From RJ:

The R2 multi-link rear suspension includes 5 stamped steel links and uses an isolated rear subframe to deliver incredible ride quality and handling, while achieving our optimized cost structure. Our "starfish" forged aluminum rear knuckle integrates bushings for each of the 5 rear suspension links to reduce unsprung mass to support enhanced ride quality. Can’t wait for folks to get to drive R2 — it’s sooo good!!

Are these ride height sensors? Could the R2 have an (likely optional) adjustable suspension?

Make it $99k with an off-road package, air suspension, tri-motor, etc and I’m all in. 😍. But only if it has CarPlay and a 180kWh battery.

Not sure I trust him. They also touted the R1 suspension as fantastic, and we all know the truth now.
R1T's is universally praised. It was when they tried to adopt it (they designed the R1T first) to the R1S' shorter wheelbase it wasn't stellar (although I think mine is fine). Since this is designed from the ground up as an SUV, I imagine it will be great.

Having owned and driven a variety of other half-ton pickups, I find the R1T has the best suspension of any pickup I have ever driven. Is there a car out there with better suspension, probably, but in the truck space the Rivian is way ahead. I have read on this forum that some people think the first version of the R1S was not as smooth riding as the R1T, but there are also reports that the newer R1S versions are better. I personally am excited to read that Rivian is focused on having a good suspension in the R2. I've also had a variety of Honda CRVs which I view as comparable size to the R2 and they generally have a somewhat stiff ride, so hopefully the R2 will be better than most mid-sized SUVs for ride quality.

This! The R1T suspension is absolutely incredible! Anyone saying otherwise is a fool.
I had a nice drive involving Sport/Low over a twisty mountain road, then AP/mid on the highway, then switched to Rally to eat up a rough dirt road - it's magical.

Other car companies have 9AM to 5PM guys who engineer to a dollar amount. Not at Rivian. RJ is a Porschephile and the vehicle dynamics engineers are true gear heads (like Pikes Peak competitor Gardner Nichols). These aren't the sort who accept status quo for SUV handling and say, we'll do exactly the same because that's just the way things are.

Yes, unfortunately since the R1S is 80 / 20 on take rate so many on here have not driven the T. I have both and the S is fine but the T is a completely different level. Better than any truck I've been owned or rode in. I also get the same compliment from everyone that rides in the T. Those in the S simply don't comment.
