22" Inch 22" replacement tire feedback please - Bridgestone Dueler A/T ASCENT

Hello all,
I live in San Diego and I'm at 18,000 miles on 22" rims. Driving is about 95% city/ highway and 5% off road, but love the look of the A/T. Just about to the wear bars on my factory tires on my 2024 R1T. Looking at the Costco Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent. Price is competitive but concerned about handling and road noise. Don't want to spend $1,300 (with tax and fees) and feel like I'm driving on a waterbed. Any feedback recommendations would be appreciated.

If you are ok with getting lower efficiency (and $600 per tire) then the following tire would be great:
TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T III EV -
34” - LT285/55R22 (58#)
35” - LT305/55R22 (57#)
Otherwise, prob. best to sell the 22s and buy a set of 20s from Atomic Wheels…

Many of us have the Continental Terraincontact AT which is in the same category. Road noise is basically the same as stock 22” tires and handling is still good. Efficiency also seems to be down only about 4%. I’ve had them on for 10k miles and can recommend the Continentals.

I just put those on in 20” (LT 275/65). I can say anything about range yet but will make a post after an upcoming trip. They are very quiet for an AT and smooth but responsive, but I have only a few miles in town on them so far.

285/55 might fit…no way the 305/55 fits, that’s the Hummer tire and is enormous. That tire is extremely expensive too.

After much review, I went with Costco and the Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2, E ply. I was concerned about the lower ply tires and the weight of the truck. I highly recommend the E ply. It drives quiet and more stable than the factory tires. I highly recommend. They look great too!

When you say 5% off road, what type of off road is it?

I don't want to diminish what your driving is, but the majority of what an average person calls "off road" is some gravely/fireroad that you could drive a sedan on, and at most, maybe something with higher clearance like a Rav4.

If that is the case, I would go with an efficient road tire so you get the performance and efficiency benefits for 95% of your driving. Plus with 800+hp, it is nice to have some traction .

You always have the option to buy some cheap 20" and even used all terrain tires for the very occasional off roading that you do. That's what I do. I got some Ram 20" wheels for $250 and used BF Goodrich KO2s for $350. That setup will be better than any 22" setup you can buy off the shelf and you won't sacrifice on road performance.

Any all terrain related tire is going to be LOUD when they start to wear and if you're driving 95% on road, you're going to regret it quickly.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I figure I'd post it. I love the look of those aggressive 22" off road tires, but if I were honest with myself, it wouldn't be a wise decision. I'm looking to replace my 22s in the next month as well.

I'm looking to pick up an R1T by the end of the year. I am most likely going to select the 20" tires and wheels because of their overall versatility and replacement cost. I understand I will lose a bit of range, and I'm ok with that.

For those of you who went with 22" tires and wheels, what is making you want to switch to 20"? LMK

I have both 20" and 22" wheels. The 22" are for summer performance tires. I'd don't go off road. I want to stay stuck to the pavement thru the corners.

The 20" are for tires more winter oriented.

If I had to choose only one size, it would be 22". Your use case may vary.

I would look at the 22" Open Country A/T III EV with good weight and low rolling resistance.

I just got a a set of 20" installed and I am pleased with them overall for comfort / grip compared to stock OEM Pirelli Scorpion AT+.
