New california service centers

I popped into the newish Burbank service center and was talking with the service writer who was very helpful getting my loose dash cover repaired. He told me about the new Van Nuys service center at 7701 Haskell Ave. It had just opened up last week. I popped by for a few shots and spoke to the SC writer. It looks like they will be ready for service real soon. Judging from what I saw on February 10, they were still putting things together. I’m not sure if you’re able to schedule service there now but probably by the time you read this, appointment will be available. It’s great to have five service centers in the greater Los Angeles area now. I’m in New Mexico part of the year and it sucks to have to drive 500 miles to Denver or Phoenix for any major repairs.

7701 Haskel and it’s pretty wild that Burbank was known for a year prior to opening and Van Nuys just kind of snuck up. Weird to have two valley ones so close to each other maybe?

I see this and I get jealous, because I would like a center down in South Riverside County which could serve North SD County as well. The Eastvale center is over an hour away with no traffic, much more at rush times.

Then I check myself and realize others have to drive half a day to get to their center, and I don’t feel sorry for myself.

Lake Forest and Costa Mesa are pretty darn close together so given the concentration in SoCal, it's pretty awesome they are going out of their way to support customers. Hope it's enough for the R2 launch.

Given how many R1Ses are running around in south OC, it makes sense. Just yesterday, I was surrounded (5 of them and me) by R1Ses on the 5 at near the Y.

Besides, Lake Forest location is next to the Rivian Engineering Center, I was told by one of the mobile tech the last time service was performed for 12V battery change campaign.

I will be in Burbank SC Friday. Booked “ahead of opening” per advisors.

Far more preferable to this purported VIP treatment to fix a critical issue (no DC fast charge) outstanding since November would be improved quality control preempting issues in the first place.

Like a lot of you, love the truck but frustrated with the issues.

I am in Tehachapi mtns. Kern County, I have driven couple hrs. one way to El Segundo shop. I am looking fwd to the Valley.

When you schedule at either of these make sure they can actually do the service you need at that location. I had a scheduled appointment at Burbank last month, minor issues. One was to replace PPF on a defective panel that was replaced last summer and never had the PPF redone. The other was for a squeaky door hinge. They added the current knuckle torque work as well.
However, when the service advisor went over the “scheduled work” he said they weren’t equipped to do the PPF and I’d need to schedule that at El Segundo. They offered to get me in a rental and do the other than the PPF but I didn’t want to go through that process twice! Now waiting for the work to be done in April at ES.

When I made my appointment for 7,500 mile service about 4-5 weeks ago, I asked about the VN location, but was told it wasn't ready to accept appointments yet.

Kudos to Rivian for opening new service centers. Hopefully it'll improve wait/repair times.
