I saw the video as well, but what they said was that they can support the entire GVW (vehicle plus max rated load) on a two inch square with no damage.I forget where exactly I saw it, but on one of the videos (maybe the LA Auto show), RJ said the battery is completely sealed in a ballistic casing. They even dropped the vehicle from a height of I think 2 feet, directly onto a rock to make sure there were no punctures.
Incredible! That's almost 6000 lbs on two square inches.I saw the video as well, but what they said was that they can support the entire GVW (vehicle plus max rated load) on a two inch square with no damage.

Not a link to the video, but an article at least.I saw the video as well, but what they said was that they can support the entire GVW (vehicle plus max rated load) on a two inch square with no damage.
Do you happen to have a link of that video? I missed that. From Rivian's own media releases it sounds like they might offer a tent accessory themselves, altho they were not really clear on that point, saying that the telescoping roof rack will integrate with a range of accessories which I assumed would be offered by Rivian. In one of the first social media videos that Rivian put out, they had a custom tent in the bed of the T. It was a third party, but at least the option will be there.
I hope the air suspension can level the truck out for rooftop tent camping. I don't want to have to park on rocks or stumps in order to level out the bed!In one of the first social media videos that Rivian put out, they had a custom tent in the bed of the T. I also second the call for a built-in heater without the need for the engine to run that someone else mentioned.
Well done, thanks!I wrote Tepui about this about a week ago, here is their response:
Hello,
I have a pre-order for a Rivian and saw that you have a tent for that truck. While I know it isn't out yet, can you give me some specifics on what what on that truck? Is it a model that you currently make with just the Rivian logo? I currently have a 4runner but want to make sure that what I purchase fits nicely on the back of the truck when I get it sometime next year.
Thank you!

Hi Andreas,
The tent on the back of the Rivian was a custom 1-off Tepui LoPro 2. It is not available yet but should be available in the next few months. It will not be available in that yellow color, rather it will come in a glacier gray color.
Cheers,
Max
