My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
"It's enormously stressful for the drivetrain" is probably the answer.

It is also unbelievably destructive when used inappropriately, which it absolutely would be.

Because a 3-month service wait time would now be 6-months...

It has to be implemented properly. Watching the video on how MB did it would be a start.

not in production cars.
Right. And we won't get it, either. This feature would really F' up the environment, which isn't a good look for an environmentally conscious company like Rivian.

I’m glad they didn’t add it. I can’t be trusted with that.

Imagine what the tire wear would be implementing that. New tires every 5k miles?

SO well implemented by MB with many fail safes and situational awareness. This should be no problem for Rivian to implement. SO Cool!!
They will implement it as soon as warranty is over for each owner!

People complain about needing new tires after 16,000 miles of ripping around, imagine after tank turning a half dozen times.

Seems like a completely unnecessary feature for morons who use the bounce mode on streets.

It’s nothing more than a cool gimmick and capability demonstration for a four motor vehicle. Real world use is extremely limited, almost any situation that has room to pivot the vehicle in a complete circle also has room to do a multipoint turn and go the other way as well.
