While advocating for executives to make less, will you take a paycut as well for someone who thinks you make too much?
That sounds good in principle but is mostly nonsense. The scale that these corporations make money is almost incomprehensible. Individuals shouldn't have the amount of money of small governments. There's a massive chasm of difference between some big executive raking in billions a year and anyone on this forum.

Of all things to worry about. This isn’t one to me. If people want to do lewd things out in public space, where my truck is most of the time, they will do so regardless of presence of any cameras. And these days, everyone has at least one recording device on them. Cameras and data collection are already everywhere. Worry about this, might as well worry about sun rising/setting. Moot.

Ok great I'll bite. When is your pay cut coming to give to someone who makes 1/2 to 1/4 of your salary? This is such a BS discussion., work 80-120 hours a week with responsibility for 15-150K workers across the globe managing billions in assets and some guy Donald on the Rivian form thinks you make too much money. And by the way Donald drives a 2 vehicles that cost more than $70K each (Rivian R1T and BMW I4 M50). Top 1%er much?

There's a massive chasm of difference between some big executive raking in billions a year and anyone on this forum.
This forum about EV's selling for $75-$115K, I think you don't know what you don't know.

Oh you're a billionaire now? Good for you, you shouldn't have that much money. It's more money than you'd ever need in a thousand lifetimes. The only thing that level of money is good for is power over other people. I think the society we live in works better if the only ones with that sort of power are governments who are supposed to be overseen by the people.

That's not even a radical take. Yeah I make a great living, but I will never reach a billion dollars unless I win the lottery. Nor would I want to because again, that kind of money is only for amassing power over others and I have no desire for that. So telling me the same reasoning applies to me is nonsense. Billionaires could all be reduced to 100 million and they wouldn't have a worse quality of life. Take my salary and cut it in half and I would have a reduced quality of life.

You really want to shill for billionaires I'm not interested in further discussion.

Think about the old 'no shoes, no shirt, no service' policies. These are 100% legal, and shop owners can descrimninate all they want
I always thought it was 'no shirt, no shoes, noooo dice!!" :p

Sigh. I’m not going to have an argument with you because I do not think you understand this field. Whistleblowers are not a protected class. They are indeed protected from retaliation, but they are not a protected class.

And again, you can still win a lawsuit against someone or an entity who discriminates against you, even if you are not a member of a protected class. Not that this is even relevant to the topic at hand.
Cool story bro. Or I guess it must be Mr. Bro, Esq...

Don't like when people call you on your off the internet gained BS ideas with no backup do you? You still haven't answered my question. When are you giving your paycheck away to someone who makes 75% less than you that considers your salary too much? Welcome to ignore.

Vehicles for at least the last ten years have essentially a black box that can be downloaded after an accident. All kinds of info is there leading up to the accident. Speed, throttle angle, brakes etc. it's possible to tell if the person lifted and how far from the incident or never saw it coming.

I have gear guard off and I've had my car wake up while walking by even though I didn't have a key with. Suspicious for sure.

Lol keep shilling for billionaires. Even if someone made a million dollars a year and saved it all it would take a thousand years to earn a billion dollars. You don’t think that’s too much? You’re greedy guy. I make significantly less than a million a year and that’s enough.

I mean, they would invest it and probably get to a billion in a century or so. So don’t despair - you can do it ?

The point is it is more money than anyone needs or should have.

Wait a minutÄ™. So a vehicle with live cameras for security, drive cam recording has an incident function you can disable. Shocking......

I don't know how I just noticed this, but looking through the Drivecam screen, I noticed a tab called "Incidents". These are all "incidents" that Rivian automatically recognizes, records, and saves down. I was unaware this was occurring in the background, and frankly, I don't like it at all.

My "incidents" tab was filled with yellow lights and other "dangerous" behavior that I'm sure any insurance provider would not be happy about.

What is the purpose of Rivian automatically saving these incidents? I find it hard to believe that my insurance (or the authorities) don't have access to these "incidents" if they really wanted.

Personal Opinion on Privacy: I previously had Rivian auto insurance, but after talking to them in depth about their data sharing, I cancelled. I learned that I was getting a substantial discount on insurance because I unknowingly agreed to a service that allows Rivian to capture all of my driving data. Yes, that could be viewed as a good thing. But I'm a firm believer that this isn't really a "discount"...it's the new norm. What I mean by that is if you don't comply with sharing all of your data, you have to pay more. Not the other way around--where you get a discount if you do share your data. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to pay more to keep some privacy, but I shouldn't have to do that. Rivian joins the list of companies that are making it very expensive for customers to not share their data...and they do it by under the guise of getting a "discount". As the years go by, we get more and more complacent and agree to give away more data and privacy all in the name of saving a few dollars. But, in reality, we aren't saving any money; they are just making it more expensive to keep your privacy. I literally had to choose between not sharing data and paying more vs. sharing all data and saving some money. Soon, the norm will be that every vehicle has full data sharing with insurance companies, and, assuming you even have the ability to opt out, then you have to pay a significant premium. That's where the world is quickly headed. And I don't think anyone likes a world with zero privacy or ownership of your own data.
Your are overthinking it. I hope you are wearing a quality tin-foil hat to bed each night also…. The other commenters made the real points about what it’s for..
