So I noticed that the GM app reports slightly lower prices at the same supercharger than the Rivian one does. Obviously I haven't tried either since my adapter hasn't arrived yet. But I am very curious if I can start a charge for the Rivians through my GM app and pay the lower rate.

Interesting that the GM says estimated pricing details and the Rivian says pricing details.

Will be curious if you see a difference once you charge.

The Rivian app has the same prices as the Tesla app for every charger I've looked at.

Rivian needs to work to get membership pricing working so I don't have to open the Tesla app to initiate the charge. Poor EA will be out of business once everyone starts using Tesla SC. Prices are drastically cheaper, far more reliable and the best physical locations.

The prices are actually the same. I noticed this as well but it appears that GM shows the price before sales tax whereas Tesla and Rivian show it with the tax. You pay the same.
Our sales tax is 6% here, so the GM price still seems slightly cheaper. I'm unfortunately too busy to hit up our nearest supported Tesla charger this weekend, but might try to find time this week, since I have a work related reason to be close to one.

And more chargers per site. I’ve not gone to EA and waited in line for months! Not sure how membership can be integrated into Rivian accounts. There doesn’t appear to be any communication between charger and vehicle that involves membership status. Would be a good question to ask if they have another AMA. I personally don’t mind initiating thru the Tesla app. It’s just a couple taps.

Oh interesting. The sales tax accounted for it here in NJ and I tried both and paid the exact same price per kWh, but maybe it’s different in different locations. Odd!

Different locations can have different pricing. Probably because of each property lease.

Thanks again for finally sending one of my adapters, Rivian. It worked just fine today. Not sure if we'll actually need it but it's nice to know it works.

Fun fact. I initiated the charge through my Rivian app out of curiosity. And the really interesting part? The charge shows up in the Rivian app. Now I'm curious what would happen with an "unsupported" vehicle.

I was kind of in a time crunch, so didn't test starting the charge through the GMC app at all.

I don’t find Tesla prices cheaper than EA. More reliable I agree with. Physical locations is a wash. I’d rather have a walmart location than another Runza.

To the OP, both the GM and Rivian App prices are high. If you intend to use Tesla Superchargers a lot, you should buy the $13/mo Tesla membership then usually pay around $0.36/kw. You initiate the charging session from within the Tesla App to avoid the default Rivian plug and charge rate, which is usually between $0.50-0.60 per kW.

I’ve done 15K in long road trips across the country since June in our R1S. My experience with EA is that they are a nice alternative to a Tesla charger when the Tesla charger is too busy.
I have the Tesla $13 monthly membership, so I’m usually paying around $0.36 per kw. My experience is that EA will charge anywhere from $0.50 to $0.60z

with the amount of charging I do, I recoup the $13 very quickly.

I’m not sure if EA also offers a sort of monthly membership. Would be nice if they did
