Ten years ago, if anyone had told me that I’d own a pickup that could smoke any motorcycle off the line...

...I would have told them to find a different crack dealer.

At the previous light, I had done a half-throttle take-off and the guy on the sportbike had given a thumbs up. He didn't realize it was only half throttle. Good time, and this is how fun should be had, not the assholes who give me the finger when they lose.

Yes, I will ALWAYS say yes to a street race. No, I don't care if you think it's stupid. Yes, I am definitely immature and plan to stay that way.

Here's one of the assholes, he gave me the finger and then swerved in front of me once I slowed down and he could catch up.

Life-long motorcycle rider here. Unfortunately, many riders are assholes with enormously fragile egos. Sorry you had to deal with one.

I didn't explain it well. The motorcycle guy waved and had a thumbs up. It's the idiots in old pickups and most Dodge products who give the finger. Bikers always have a good attitude about it.

Oh, that’s slightly better news.

I had some dude ranting at me in a Costco parking lot recently who got out of his older F150 about my electric truck and how the world was coming to an end or some nonsense.. People are weird.

Yup, it’s ICE pickups who always want to race, or get pissy and throw the hand gestures. Most of the time I’m not even aware that they wanted to “race” and just accelerate off the start faster than their Vehicles. “Settle don bro, I wasnt even aware of your ego…” ?‍♂

I have always loved going fast for short spurts and my R1T fills the bill better than I thought could ever happen. The fact that it's a pick-up truck makes it even more exciting. Blowing off Ford Raptors and other wannabees is quite fulfilling. In my youth I had a pretty fast Harley that I loved to goose from a traffic light. As it was a Police Motor, I was never able to get a taker.

Definitely a lot of motorcycles but most liter bikes are capable of quicker times… most riders aren’t though.

It didn't seem like they were racing or didn't know how to launch their bikes. R1 may beat a super bike or a supersport from a complete stop, but not by that margin.

I have been on both sides and it's great fun. Nothing to feel bad about. If some one is ahead of me and going faster, cops will get them instead of me, so I am grateful to them. There was one time with 2 Harley dudes, in their 60, with cigars, doing over 100. Good times

As a literbike owner, I approve this take :)

I agree the bike wasn't trying at the light. He took off normally with the rest of traffic. The point is though, that rivians are quick and can jump away from any vehicle unaware when you're in the wrong lane to make that next turn.

Would be interested to see you do a start against an electric bike, like the Zero in you Profile Pic :D

The zero has the initial torque dialed back to keep from tossing riders.
