And the I just got Gen1, and now I'm salty about Gen2 crowd.
Which is sorta me, but I think I'm gonna just grab a R1T maybe... if not wait for R3X which was my plan once that one was announced.

I have sympathy for those who just bought a Gen 1 and were surprised by the magnitude of improvements in Gen 2, but it was predictable. Rivian has proven time and again that they intend to delight and surprise people every chance they get. Every announcement will include more than you expect. Every revelation will be bigger than you expect. When they reveal the Gen 2 Quad it will have delightful surprising additions that you did not expect. This is the MO that they have adopted. You can take that to the bank.

Sounds like R2 will be superior to the 2025 R1S in many ways so those buying 2025s now and gloating over original model purchasers will in two years have karma.

Sympathy? Lol for what? The price I paid for quad won't even get you an equivalent dual now. Tri/quad motor is what adds personality to the car.

It's incredibly smart what Rivian has done with Gen 2. I'm not salty at all...I wish the cameras were better resolution but I have everything I need in Gen 1.

If course if Rivian wants to offer me a free swap for a Gen 2 Tri with stealth PPF I would probably go for it. I not going to hold my breath on this one ?

Otherwise they will have to pry my Gen 1 Quad R1T from my cold dead hands ?

Getting in here before the "What about CarPlay?" crowd
I agree with everything RJ says in this video, and their vision. I will also maintain that they are taking way too long with it. I'm sure there's holes in many early adopters expectations that have not been met.

Rivian took the long position, which is fine. It should be successful. Just takes time and a bunch of investment. Maybe in a couple years, we'll have a couple more audio apps that exist in Carplay, choice for navigation traffic data, and some audio texting integration. Good luck if they are trying to develop their own audio assistant without licensing one.

They just need to copy Tesla.

Carplay is inconsistent with Rivian's strategy. Tesla proves that Carplay is not necessary to sell cars.

There's quite a few opinions out there that Tesla's system still isn't as complete and open as it could be, either. But copying tesla and getting to where Tesla is will still take TIME and MONEY. Hopefully the VW infusion will speed things up
