A lot went into it. My Rivian Engineer neighbor told a year more ago that they were breaking half shafts and also lifting the front wheels off the ground in the first round of testing. I'm guessing they dialed things back a lot to the tune of 2.5 second 0-60 times to conserve part's.

I am super glad they are going to bring it to market....and actually suprised...given the market seems much greater at the lower price points.

But it makes sense to have a larger gap between the standard DM offering and the top performance spec models.

Profit can certainly be made at the top end as long as priced correctly. Porshe is a master of making a basic 911 become a super car and price them accordingly.

Electrochromic glass confirmed. It also looks like the buttons above the rear-view mirror have been reconfigured, maybe to accommodate a switch for the roof? (Edit: there is no button for the roof in that area. It mist be controlled through the main screen)

Also interesting tidbits about RGB exterior light bars with SOC indicator and adaptive headlights, which I'm assuming means that they have matrix/localized dimming capability.

Definitely appears to be. I originally thought it was audio. But it even says "ambient lighting" (I think).

You'll be waiting a LONG time (after your coupon expires I would guess).

It was a calculated decision. But I'm willing to wait. Price drop and devaluation will hit Canada like it did in the US. For me, it won't matter to use the coupon (exp sept 2024) or not. The trade in value for my trade in truck (F150 hybrid) vs the real value was making the voucher useless... So I'll try to sell the F150 on my own. While waiting for the leasing options in Canada and price drop when they realize that just a handful of people are willing to buy with these terms. I only knew 9 persons with launch edition voucher and I was the last one to cancel.

I would think it would be similar to the keycards we already have (NFC). So current gen should be compatible.

This is likely UWB so, no, Gen 1 vehicles won't get it.

Very glad to see a premium audio option make its way back into the mix!

Hopefully they will also make this a paid retrofit upgrade for existing owners now happy with their current audio.

(I'm still hopeful that some aftermarket companies will make an easy upgrade path for the Rivs. I'm not interested in just a subwoofer upgrade.)
