If that true? I believe the 12v are just sealed lead acid?
I suppose I should find a way to confirm it, this is what someone at the service center told me. In our Tesla they were lead-acid at first, but around 2020 they started going with lithium.

VIN 1700's, 37k miles.

No issues/alerts this AM driving. Maybe a longer sleep was needed, or cooler temps.

Likely the alert will reappear, so took the opportunity to clean out the truck in case a tow (or worse) is needed.

I'm guessing the DCFC fried something. Hit 200kw pretty fast. Never had an issue (besides security) at RANs before. Still consider them the most reliable in terms of functionality and availability to all other CCS1 sites.

Both 12V are > 13V...

The Reddit thread example makes it sound like there is possibly a temp sensor around the 12v battery? Not sure if that or a chemical sensor is more likely. Either way if the batteries are working fine then maybe the sensor just went sideways.

Appreciate your responses. Visual and voltage inspection of the 2 12v seem OK. Also found the reddit post, doesn't seem similar (yet). Maybe a remote diagnostic will indicate what the issue is.

Will update once I get more info. If you hear about a RivFire in FL, it was nice knowing ya.

the battery is LiFeP04, not lead acid.
Umm.... No. Mine has dual lead acid. There are multiple threads about people discussing replacing the 12V lead acid with a Lithium. They are AGM lead-acid, but that's still lead acid, not Lithium.

What this security concern, Nacho?

Security guard/Mallcop insisted I leave the RAN chargers at 930pm since the outlet mall had just closed. No signs anywhere. Reported it twice, so hopefully that's resolved. Otherwise pretty stupid to have your only RAN in FL open 10hrs/day.

Well, that is both frightening and reassuring.

Frightening that it happened, reassuring that there is a system in place in the Rivian to actually alert you about this.
I’d say frightening that it’s enough of a potential problem that “Toxic Battery Fumes Alert” showed up on someone’s backlog.

I am shocked anybody decided it was a good idea to put the batteries right next to the cabin air intake.

Sounds like something Goldfinger would do to his “investors”.
