Wassym did say at least that more than 80% of the software roadmap will be compatible with existing R1s.
If the 20% is related to the scroll wheels on the R2, I’m cool with that. Otherwise I don’t know ?‍♂

He mentioned sensor and computer upgrades, so unfortunate

Wassym also said on video almost a year ago that he personally tested lane change video camera (screen displays blind spot next to vehicle) and it was coming s00n. We still don’t have this feature……. s00n?
He said s00n not s-0-0-n, so it’ll probably be awhile.

Yes, he said fleet average is 1 mile a day, if the vehicles are using more he suggested opening a ticket so they can look at the edge cases doing worse.

Any comments RE: Gen 1 vampire drain?
My vampire drain is only about 1% a day, if that. On a sub-10,000 VIN. Software updates over the years have significantly improved it from what it was early on.

But... I do park in a single-family-home garage, so have Gear Guard turned off at home. It is higher when parking overnight somewhere that Gear Guard is active. Maybe 2-3%/night.

Getting shafted on new hardware features sucks for recent adopters. Maybe they will have a program for trade ins
I am surprised they have not developed a trade in model already that offers existing owners an incentive. Maybe they will once the refresh comes out?

This is me too. When mine sits at airport, if it is a shorter period I typically leave gear guard on, and I see 1-2% per day. If the stay is longer, then I turn it off, and it drops to 1% or less. Typically less.

1% a day is 2-2.5 miles so above what the said. Maybe open a ticket.

..y... You guys never purchased anything before in your lives..like ever?

I mean, go to BestBuy and buy a new TV and when the new models come out, DEMAND you get the better TV because it has better stuff.

Or next time the new iPhone comes out, you should complain that your 6 month old version doesn't have what the new one has and so you should get the upgrade for absolute free.

Actually, walk away from the Rivian. Go buy a Subaru/Honda/Lexus and pull the same nonsense. I want to be there when the sales guys laugh you out of the show room...

...Seriously, are you that entitled in life? IF that's the case, just wait...forever and never buy anything again, because, SINCERELY, there will ALWAYS be something newer and better around the corner.

I, for one, am grateful I was able to purchase a product that can continue to get BETTER over time.

...you'd think your parents would've raised you better

Last I'd checked, Rivian does accept trade ins?

In fact, every car manufacturer does for the most part. If you want the latest and greatest, they'll happily take your trade at its depreciated value so you can buy another vehicle from them!
