I like the base Tycan. It's essentially an electric Panamera. Porsche makes good cars. I'm just not convinced that the TCT is one of them.

Come on now, Rivian R1 and Porsche Taycan comparison as competitors?

It's a sports car (2k pounds less) not an SUV or Pickup Truck. No-one is cross shopping these vehicles or even thinking about them in the same vein. The only thing they have in common is both are EV and amazing engineering goes into both.

The Rivian is a FANTASTIC appliance. But it doesn’t have a soul. I haven’t driven a Taycan, but I have a 6MT Cayenne, and it is a BLAST.

I concur on the Cayenne being a fantastic vehicle. I like my R1S for different reasons. But Porsche makes solid vehicles.

What are you talking about? My Rivian has a soul! It even has attitude and decides to stop working on occasion and require a ton of service center visits. You tell me that’s not character from a soul! /s

We have both an R1S and a Taycan 4S Cross Turismo…I much prefer the Porsche. Not even a question. And the Rivian was originally meant for me. ?

The range isn’t a problem for our personal use, and unlike Tesla you get every mile quoted.

The Porsche is a million times better road tripper than the Rivian though even if the range seems low at first glance. The reason is because the Porsche has a charge curve that kicks ass which is actually the most important thing cutting down the total travel time on an EV roadtrip.
