ya $3000 for that no... seems like a good way to put a tent in the back but the price should be $1000 for something like that.

Is the title of this thread meant to be ironic? Or is that Electrek's typically terrible take on this 'innovation?'

Tesla totally gets it when it comes to outdoor activities. If you don't want to visit a service center before you go camping then you aren't "hardcore" enough for Tesla.

Attention CT owners: I will construct something similar for you using 2 tarps from Home Depot and some tent poles from Amazon. Cost approximately $200 including free install from me while I laugh hysterically.

It's a contoured tarp. $79.99 plus a few grommets.

Well, it at least seems to be a bit more roomy than the concept. But that thing looks like an initial prototype, not a final product.

Maybe the engineers spent too much time researching tents at the homeless camps.

If you consider "innovation " to be the copying all the tarps strewn around skid row in downtown LA, then sure... they nailed it. Urban lifestyle camping x10!!

Here's a "design pattern" for you, I'll bet you can improve on this!

Oof, I didn’t think there was a way to make this thing look worse. I was wrong.
Incredible, really. You would have thought covering it up would hide some of the ugly, but the ugly somehow shines through. I guess an ugly dumpster with a tarp is still an ugly dumpster.
