El Segundo Service Center - Soonest Appointment is June 11

I tried to make a service appointment for my R1S for a rattling center console left side, excessive roof window noise and lack of wireless charging and they only could come up June 11th which is over 5 months.

I never experienced this with any cars I owned. Rivian, if you are reading this post you are not going to sell many vehicles when buyers find out that if you got a problem with your vehicle you can't get it service in a timely manner. I spent over 100K on this vehicle and I am treated horribly. Great way for a company to go broke is poor service.

This is really frustrating. Rivian is making progress in our area but clearly things aren't going so well where you are. Any possibility of a sooner appointment at another service center?

Well they are not going to fix the wireless charger.

And the other two are minor issues. So expected at this point. If your axle failed it wouldn't be 5 months.... I hope..

See if they can get you into the new Eastvale facility faster. Might be a little bit more of a drive, but they probably aren't over scheduled like El Segundo. I was told that Costa Mesa would be July to get my spare tire installed, then they called me back and said April for Eastvale which is closer to me. A few minutes later I got a call that said Feb 5th for mobile service. Good Luck..

I will try to reschedule Eastvale instead. It's about an hour drive to Corona where Eastville is located compared to 20-30 minutes to El Segundo.

I will try to schedule at Eastvale near Riverside, CA. It's more of a drive, but I am determined to get my RIS fixed. I have been following the thread about the roof glass being weak. My problem is that I get a lot of noise coming from the roof rack. I pin pointed the noise coming thru the gasket where the glass and roof frame meet on the from front passenger side. This may be just an alignment issue. Thanks 240vPlug.

Sounds like a plan.

When you say roof racks you have the cargo cross bars installed? If so, they are known to make a lot of noise. I would try removing them to see if the noise reduces to an acceptable level as a way to troubleshoot what's causing the noise. I will say that the R1S is known to have a little more wind noise than the R1T. At least that's been my experience and what I've read around these forums and other places.

They’ll try to fix noise due to wind ingress, but not if it’s wind turbulence (which is “normal”, “expected” and “within spec”). I went in for the same issue last November.

I made an appointment for a few recent issues on Jan 2nd. First available at El Segundo was May 14th!!! I’ve had my R1S over a year and never heard of service times so far out. I did have a mobile appt for my R1S spare 3 weeks ago and the tech said El Segundo is doing services and mobile services for vehicles from LA County all the way to San Luis Obispo and appointment’s and turn around times should ease up once the Glendale/North Hills location opens up but that’s going to be awhile. (Hopefully this summer)

The service delays are a real issue. I had my first appointment cancelled on me. Then they finally got me another one three months later. I dropped the truck last week. They need to double check the high speed charger, fix an issue with the AC, and ideally that little door over the air pump but I hear that is just a design flaw. They have had the truck for over a week and not even looked at it! In the meantime they are spending money on a rental for me. If this is the common practice then they are wasting money on a consistent basis due to lack of organization and insufficient crew.

I posted about this in another thread. But THIS is what concerns me. I do worry about the future of Rivian. Not because the product is bad. But that the management is poor.

Guess mobile techs are really hard to come by. Wonder why some of these issues are pushed to the service centers?

I wish Rivian offered a prorated rate on your car loan instead. It would be cheaper than car rental costs. Obviously only applies to people that have an extra vehicle to drive.
