What did your service guy say about the R2?

That would be a sure way to get even more initial attention for the R2 - by showing it with NACS port and announcing Supercharger access for all R1.

Any Rivian excitement is good. I'll also put a deposit on an R2 early on. A couple of thoughts about that:

• I don't think I want to get one of the first 1,000 or so vehicles produced - I'll let others work through the issues. That may change if they put a service center closer than 2 hours away.
• I can't imagine that they'll allow your deposit to lock in the pricing if delivery is 2+ years away like they did with the R1. I'm picturing something like "This deposit will reserve your vehicle and final pricing will be confirmed when your build is scheduled."

100% will not lock in pricing, that's something they can't afford to repeat. They might offer an incentive to preorder early, maybe free premium connectivity or a limited run colourway would be of interest to some?

Can you have a "worldwide" launch when you only sell to customers in select portions of the USA and Canada?

R1 was never intended for a worldwide release so far as we know...it's too big and too heavy for many countries. Others have already posted the image saying it's the R2 launch, but the R2 *is* intended for sale in countries outside North America.

Worldwide service center launch would be better before launching another vehicle they can’t provide service for!

Just kidding.... I'll probably put down a deposit too as long as it's refundable. I don't need 835hp and 11K lbs towing capacity.
