The fact that they don't mention a residual or purchase option at the end of the lease anywhere in the lease terms may indicate Rivian is modeling their lease program based on Tesla's lease program where you have to turn the vehicle in with no option to purchase it. If true, we may eventually see lease turn in vehicles for sale directly from Rivian.

Lessor can buy down as much as they want. Just show up with check.

At the end of your lease, you have several options. You can choose to purchase the vehicle, return it and lease another vehicle, or simply return the vehicle to Rivian.

Ah, I see. Sorry for calling you a word Nazi! Lessor was put in my head and I ran with it. Point is, LESSEE can buy down any amount of lease with money (check or otherwise). Lessor doesn't need a check I suppose...the can just waive their hand with financial wizardry...though a check works too.

What type of inspection upon return of the vehicle at end of the lease? I'd suspect that people may be a bit harder on their vehicle (suspension, off-road, loading, etc) if they know they're not keeping it beyond the lease period...

You know they will check those powered tonneu's pretty close. ?
