I want to encourage some fun here... yesterday's second email says we will be hearing from Rivian "tomorrow morning" (today, obviously). Now, will that be an East Coast morning (by 12PM EST), Normal IL morning (by 1PM EST), or West Coast morning (by 3PM EST).

Same! They need to do away with the courtesy wipe.

Mine's in auto and it very rarely does a courtesy wipe when engaging Drive. I wish it would do a courtesy wipe after using windshield washer fluid.

Not yet. Drove my truck this morning and...I think I like the pure driving experience of...nothing but speedo.

I mean, of course I wouldn't want it that way ALL the time, but...

LOL, The ID.4 is a heaping pile of dog shit. I had one for a month. It was the worst EV, and vehicle perhaps, I've ever owned.

I handle heaping piles of dog shit every day. The ID.4 is much much better.

Maybe this was a grand experiment by some rouge employee terrified by widespread screen addiction. Next the middle screen will turn back on and just say Adventurous Forever. Then all the AA/Car Play withdrawal people will look up and suddenly see how beautiful the world is in real life and it it will be like the end of WALL-E

Software is a software and even space shuttle system had bugs. The interesting question to Rivian - what is the process of a change rollout and how do they prevent wide spread impact and reduce recovery time (and yes, sorry for the early folks but at least bulk is protected).

I'm a little surprised new software isn't rolled out to a known set of vehicles (employee cars?) about a week before the same software is sent to paying customers.

You assume wrong. Auto wipers leads to the "courtesy wipe" every time you put it in drive which I can't stand. So mine stay off until it actually rains.

Same, the courtesy wipe annoys me so I have auto off unless it is raining. Fortunately, even w/the infotainment not working you can still change wiper modes. It just doesn't populate on screen until after it's selected. Was raining this am on the way to work so I clicked up once to activate auto, then when I parked I clicked down once to turn wipers off; the indicator changes to the selected mode.
