ABRP Can’t Calculate Route?

ABRP is now telling me it can’t calculate a route that I’ve asked it to calculate probably 20-30 times in the past (which it has been able to do). I now have to select a very particular charger at a midway way point to get it solve.

I thought ABRP was supposed to make Rivian better? Is Rivian making ABRP worse? How’s that for click bait?

But really, what in the world?

Waypoint is Asheville, NC

I can pick Cherokee, NC and ABRP is like “okay, let’s just go through Asheville and then to Cherokee”

Check your settings, particularly the departure SoC and the arrival SoC. Also your allowed charging networks and plugs. Can't find a solution means can't find a way to do it within the restrictions of your settings. You could always post your rough starting and ending points and we can check if we can see the same thing, or if it's just you ...

What I don’t get is if I pick Asheville, NC as an intermediate waypoint - no dice. If I zoom into Asheville and pick the literal charger at Sam’s club (which ABRP has routed me to before), then it can route the trip.

I’ve cleared my charger preferences and there’s no difference. Set departure to 100%. No dice.

Maybe ABRP can predict the future like Minority Report and it is trying to protect you from some bad thing that might happen if you go that route?

Just curious do you have the latest version of ABRP, I had that issue a version or 2 ago on my iPad but was resolved in the latest update.

If you give the starting and ending cities we can enter it and see what we get.

I would love if Rivian would add the ability to add waypoints or stops on the way. When we went to Disneyland in September when we got to a charging station we wanted, I would have to use the app and pick the next stop and send it to the Rivian.

On the ABRP webpage, I can add waypoints, and stops, and save them. It would be nice to send that to the Rivian.

Across the board, the Rivian mapping / navigating / route finding experience is sub-standard and now my single biggest complaint with the vehicle.

There is nothing worse than having to validate every single navigation suggestion that Rivian makes with Waze or Google Maps on your phone. And the fact that the company continues to claim (surely they can't believe?) that they can actually compete with Waze ad Google Maps in this area. MAJOR FAIL

I've had hit or miss luck with ABRP. I recently did a trip from the SF Bay Area to Tacoma, WA. On the way North, ABRP nailed it with one EA stop and three RANs. On the way back, it plotted the same four stops, buy added 15 minutes at a 5th in the Bay Area. In reality, I was able to move the one EA stop to another EA station about 15 miles farther, and avoid the entire 5th stop.

Not sure why it had to be so difficult...

In charger types do you have level 2 selected as an option? Aren’t the way point chargers level 2?

You can try deleting and reinstalling it. If you are interested these are my settings

Maybe you marked that Asheville charger as avoid for all future trips - that's one of the choices when removing a charger waypoint from a route. You could have selected the wrong option instead of removing it just for the current trip .
