These are the asking prices. Expensive cars are sitting more now due to rates and economic uncertainty.

Also, the availability of dual motor will put some downward pressure on used prices IMO.

R1T used prices have dropped like a rock. The buy and flip opportunity has passed.

Rates and uncertain economic issues with the Fed is pretty much all of this right now.

Also, luxury vehicles have always been a rapidly depreciating asset aside from the cuckoo bananas covid car market.

You mean these things aren't investments?

This shouldn't be a surprise. As something used becomes more common, used prices drop, like the R1T did. Interest rates are up.

R1t and r1s prices will equalize before much longer. The only real reason for the difference is scarcity.

These prices actually make sense. There are still pre-price hike R1S going out, these people potentially paid <$80k and are possibly pocketing the tax credit. They can sell for a small profit and the buyer pays less than new for a quad motor and they get it now.

Yup. My pre-hike R1S (LE, 20" AT, GW, OC) was $75,500 - $7,500 tax credit = $68,000 (before taxes & fees).

Cars are definitely meant to depreciate, and honestly pretty crazy that I could still pretty easily pull a $10K+ profit if I sold it today (6 months & 5,000 miles later) but enjoy the this damn truck way too much to even consider getting rid of it.

I completely understand. When I got my T in March 2022 people were selling them for over $100k. With the tax credit I could have pocketed $25-30k. I had even just bought an EV6 before I got my R1T so I knew I would sell one of them. The truck was just too awesome, so I sold the EV6.

Be glad you don't have a Mach E. That is downright scary, but thinking about picking a GT up for half price. Glad we went with the Bronco.

I agree that once all pre reservations are gone will settle in the low 80's for most low mileage R1's. Unless Tesla goes crazy and the other mfgs follow.

I ended up buying a used White/White interior/dark ash/22s from a guy in Texas for $88k..he made a bit of profit but wasn’t trying to flip it like some people.

what really got me was the tax when I registered it over here in CA. Registration & tax was almost an additional $10k. I almost shit myself when they told me the total.
