We replied immediately, made it clear if there was a rust issue it would be warranted. We found the reddit post and replied there as well. I also reached out to the OP and thanked them for mentioning it. I am not sure if you missed all this?
No, it was not lost on me, and it's greatly appreciated to see that responsiveness.

The point in question was following conversation regarding AVAILABILITY of the rock sliders. When I ordered, your website said ETA shipping September, and there are several posts from forum users who have not received their orders since at least January of this year.

If you could speak to that, I think we'd all be appreciative.

Thanks for following up!

Okay, this thread isn't about sliders or the ETAs, but I am happy to reply - yes, ETA (estimated timing) has not been an easy thing to estimate and forecast. Ramping the production rate has been challenging, but we keep working to make improvements daily. For specifics on any order, it's always best to call us directly for and update. Thanks again

Not interested in another update since the estimated dates you provide come and go and are pushed back month after month. Please cancel my order 3330 as requested in emails and Shopify messages.

I have a pair of running boards on my R1T and I didn't order them until after I got my truck in June. Delivery timelines were pretty accurate from EV Sportline.

It sounds like people are upset about long lead times on boards but that happens when it's a new aftermarket product on a newly released vehicle. Between this thread and the other running board thread that's now up to something like 140ish pages, EV Sportline has been pretty receptive to comments and feedback (look at all of the pages on square vs. slotted thread design). Just adding this 'simple' change to the product essentially doubled the SKUs for these products.

In this instance, EV Sportline has said numerous times that they will warranty and replace this defective product and they stand behind them. Any time you're in manufacturing, you will have issues that pop up with individual products and that's what a warranty is for.

If this issue would have happened to me, my first reaction would have been to reach out privately to EV Sportline, explain the issue, and look to resolve it through them. After getting a resolution of the issue, I then would have likely shared this issue as an FYI to the forum, rather than looking for some other broader quality issue.

Again, thanks to EV Sportline for coming out with this product. I didn't realize how much I use my running boards until this weekend when I had the opportunity to ride in a friends' R1S who didn't have them.

Absolutely love mine. Has been a game changer and the complaints from the rest of the family have stopped.

Any special precautions we should be taking to prevent rust issues besides addressing damage/wear to the finish early on?

Apparently now I'm in the next batch of orders but I'm sure that's hog wash too.
What's your strategy here? Bludgeon EV Sportline into prioritizing you to stop your negative posts? Are you really Satan?

Why do *you* care? You have stock in EV Sportline or something?
I think it's because I feel they are doing a great job overall and I would like the see them prosper and offer additional products.

I will admit that if the sliders had been more available I would have gone that route but getting _something_ installed before my wife decided to hate the vehicle _forever_ was more important.

Yeah, I want them to succeed as well...for real. And they can start my fulfilling my order ;) Also, I feel you on the short wife thing...plus I have small children so it's been a constant pain in the ass to lift them up there. I get it's a bespoke product and takes time, but god damn, just try to be conservative with setting expectations to your customers. That's really it. I really wanna take this thing off road and do some gnarly trails and that's the real reason I want the slider option.
I want to see them succeed to and I have purchased many other products from them.
However I finally cancelled my February R1S slider order and ordered DCE sliders because:
One too many off-road trips with my girlfriend getting banged up climbing in and out.
One too many off-road trips risking potential damage because I still did not get the sliders I was promised over and over again in just another month.
Potential rust issue (glad they are going to handle under warranty but that sounds like a PITA to remove/replace and dispose/ship back bad sliders).

ok, so back to the RUST issue lol ... is there some heavy duty lubricant that one could spray on the sliders once in a while to help avoid any sort of rust issues (for ANY brand of sliders)?

I wonder if this issue affects both the rock slider version as well as the running boards.
You can bet on it. Essentially the same product, one with "skid plates", underneath. Same finish and manufacturing methods.

No systemic rust issue. I live in Seattle and it rains all the time, all the F’n time... No rust here. Re welting, we should ask @EV Sportline to sell professional welting kits!
