I'll bite: 'nuff said at BMW owner and lack of etiquetteThis is perfect timing to tell this story of bad etiquette from yesterday.
So the fun starts: A dude rolls up with a lady in a BMW of some EV sort.

I wasn’t going to simplify it that much but… you get it ?I'll bite: 'nuff said at BMW owner and lack of etiquette![]()
could be a red robeA scythe and black robe might be even more impactful.
It's not a big deal if you don't, I'm just pointing out that a bolt or like vehicle plugged into a 350kw charger is part of the "clogging of the charger/etiquette" problem. You could charge a couple big vehicles to a substantial level in the time it takes for a bolt to trickle charge off the same connection it's just that some owners have no idea.I have to admit, I am not going to swap chargers at a station if I fall below the peak delivery of that unit I am plugged in to. If the one I am plugged into initially is working, that is the one I am going to use until I am done. However, in most situations, for most people, done is around 80%. One of the few times I saw someone trying to get to 100%, it was a Hyundai or Kia plugged into a 350kw station, charging over 80% when I arrived and into the 90%s when I left, about 30 minutes later. However, there was no line when I was there, but I doubt it would have bothered that individual, who looked confused because I arrived after and left before he did.
Isn't that what the tow hooks on the front are for?drag 'em out? Tempting...but yeah....
I would have to agree with this except for the rude upper class bit. The people you're talking about are not upper class, and the actual upper class people cannot stand them either. These are upperish middle class people, wedged between working class folk and people with actual financial freedom. The people who want you to see all the money they have and who need to be acknowledged as some big important person usually are slightly above middle of the pack and have a much bigger ego than accomplishment list. It’s always funny to read people commenting on joe six pack. Yeah most don’t drive evs because it’s not an interest of theirs but probably have more etiquette than a couple of people I ran into at EA chargers this past week and seems like many of you have run into. Had a family driving a Mach e that appeared anything but joe six pack watch me try to activate an EA charger for 10 minutes before I approached them to ask. They looked offended I bothered to talk to them and had nothing to say but “it’s broken”. Then joe six pack comes up and chats me up and helps me out with another charger that seemed down but wasn’t. Another time BMW ev stared me down after I waved hi. I later looked over and they were charging to 100% at 20kw in a 350 while others were lined up. Joe six pack in an electric f150 saw me and family and decided to unplug early because he thought he had enough to make it to his next destination. Also saw people trying to cut others off at chargers when it was obvious the others were there first (one jaguar and one bmw). Again anything other than joe six pack. 2 of my 6 ea stop this week were friendly and helpful joe six packs and rude upper class. Other 4 stops were great with nice people all around.
Off topic I know, but years ago when I was a sales rep in Spain I was riding around Valencia with my distributor and could discern no clear pattern to when he took the right-of-way and when he yielded. I finally asked who had the right-of-way at roundabouts and unmarked intersections and he answered me like I was a 6-year old: “The larger vehicle, of course”.I think the rule should be that the biggest EV goes next . . .
I didn’t mean to put upper class into the rude category, just wanted to differentiate from joe six pack. These people very well could have been middle of the pack. I guess the point was it doesn’t matter what walk of life you come from. You are going to get rude people with poor etiquette no matter where you go. While I know many people with financial freedom wealth that are very considerate and don’t flaunt anything I also know some that are entitled and have very poor etiquette.I would have to agree with this except for the rude upper class bit. The people you're talking about are not upper class, and the actual upper class people cannot stand them either. I've been on both sides of this income level and both working class and actual wealthy people are as a group much more polite. My personal theory is that the Joe six pack guy is proud that he works hard and provides for his family but doesn't consider himself better than anyone. The wealthy person might also work hard but they have true financial freedom and don't see any reason to brag. It's a lousy thing to do if the person has much less than you, and all your peers also have financial freedom so bragging about a thing they could also easily buy is stupid. The group in the middle has just enough money for a taste of the wealthy lifestyle and they want everyone below them to know it because they don't actually have the true wealth which is freedom.
I wish the Salida RAN was that way. Out of the 4 RAN stations, 1 was open, 1 was being used and 2 were ICEd by Rivians. Really disappointing. We used the Rivian Adventure Network station in Inyokern, CA this weekend, despite being full everyone was nice and nobody lingered in the spots after they finished charging enough to move on. Something about Rivian owners makes this situation much better than dealing with EA stations and drivers of other types of EVs!

The ones that are iced by Rivians, can you park on the other side of the charger, unplug them and plug in your truck?I wish the Salida RAN was that way. Out of the 4 RAN stations, 1 was open, 1 was being used and 2 were ICEd by Rivians. Really disappointing.
Always amazes me at how clueless/rude people are parking at a charger and not charging. One of the reasons I think all chargers should be at the furthest point of a parking lot.I wish the Salida RAN was that way. As in not plugged in at all, or plugged in but finished charging?2 were ICEd by Rivians
Not plugged in at all. Just parked there. I charged my R1T and then my friend charged his after mine was done. When we left 45 min later the 2 parked Rivians were still there not charging. As in not plugged in at all, or plugged in but finished charging?
If the latter, it might be people who are trying to get as much free charge as possible but are unaware/forgot that their charging limit is set to 70% or something like that.
3 of the RANs are up against the Safeway building so can't do that. Tried with the pull thru trailer RAN but the cable was too short. The ones that are iced by Rivians, can you park on the other side of the charger, unplug them and plug in your truck?
