Please don't buy either a Rivian or a Tesla. We don't need your complaining on either forum.
  2. Sad, but I think I’m out

Not so fast. I purchased two made-in-USA vehicles in 2025. Both qualified for the intertest deduction. My deduction on IRS 1040: $0. Too much income or some other factor. Bottom line: don't count on reducing your tax bill unless you run actual numbers and verify your situation...

  6. F-150 Lightning EV canceled. To be replaced with EREV Lightning (700+ miles range)

Unfortunately agree. Some of us have either towing long distance or remote travel where EREV is an interesting possibility. Yet nothing coming soon. Fortunately more and more DC chargers are being deployed.

Yes, “ going into production in six months” said 6, 12, 18,…48 months ago. VaporWare defined. Same with Toyota and solid state batteries.

  15. R2 spotted charging via NACS port at Tesla Supercharger

Logic of backing in to a parking spot and driving out forward is easy. Entering a parking space, you have more situational awareness. Backing in is safer at this time. And...allows for speedy departure, you know, when you're stealing something, ex is chasing you, etc... And with auto-park...
  16. Idle fee hate

Thankfully this is not possible. DC chargers are "fast" for a reason, to enable long-distance travel. Not an efficient use of resources to have people trickle charging at a DC charger. Hence no ability--thankfully-- to limit incoming power on a DC charger.
  17. NACS cables now being installed at RAN stations

Yes, excellent explanation of why NACS is a more elegant, simple, and effective solution.
  19. RJ: Rivian ADAS will expand to Tesla style FSD - full self driving on highway and roads (from driveway to destination)

Tell that to the 40,000+ "safe drivers" who die each year on USA roads, and the many more with life-altering injuries. Any type of driver aids, starting with daytime running lights, are a boon to safety and lower injuries. "Tesla-style" FSD is long overdue, from Rivian and others (Lucid)...
