Does the lower tail gate mat actually stick up as shown when closed???

If so, is there any plan to make this into two-piece cargo mat so that the lower gate cover does not stick up like it shows? If its two-pieces, you can fix the end of the lower tail gate at the top and have the hinge cover part to slide under the floor mat - or something like it.

While appreciate having a single piece to go over the actual hinge and opening of the cargo floor and the lower gate, this is not workable from my perspective.

Thanks for your feedback in advance!
Our cargo liner can be folded. We suggest folding the tailgate section UNDER the upper mat when it's not being used. This way, it won't stick up when the tailgate is closed. Make sure it's neatly tucked in to avoid any issues when closing your tailgate. There's a bend in the middle that makes this pretty straightforward. We've attached the picture to help you understand better.

I understand the design decision and appreciate the versatility; however, I’m imagining a scenario in which I’m loading something messy or wet and would like all the carpeted areas covered, but once loaded it would likely be too heavy or awkward to fold the tailgate piece under the rear mat. Then you’re left with just closing the tailgate and the unsightly overhang.

I think that’s why folks are curious about a 2 piece design but that will then leave the seam uncovered.

I don’t have a solution. Just thinking about the pragmatics if I buy it.

Appreciate all the time and effort. Products look great overall.

Just following up since I haven't posted since receiving my mats last week. As an update, these mats fit perfectly, in all 3 rows! I had a camping trip scheduled for last weekend, so I took out my stock mats and put these LinerX ones in their place. The fit is great, they are secure, made out of quality material, feel rugged to the touch, and are highly functional...keeping the dirt and grit contained. Also love the additional coverage. In my opinion, these are markedly better than the Rivian all weather mats.

Although we all had to wait a bit, I can appreciate the process which resulted in a quality, well-made product. Thank you @LinerX, as well as @kanundrum for making sure this product was on-point! ??

I don't see a problem with the overhang. The next thing I do after closing the lower tailgate is closing the upper hatch. Can't see the overhang anymore and it protects the inside of the hatch. Your mileage may vary, just my take.

I supposed these are only for when seats are folded down? I can't imaging how they will stay attached when seats are up.
Same question, curious as to how they stay attached when seats are up? Velcro, straps?

Almost pulled the trigger on the Rivian mats but saw @kanundrum post his review on a FB group then did a search here for additional reviews which resulted in this thread.

Looking to purchase the whole set but was curious about the seat back covers.

Also looking for more info from @LinerX on the rear cargo setup for the R1S. With the "flap" that covers the tailgate, can I just close the tailgate and it folds up and out of the way? And while I almost never have the 2nd row seats down, the 3rd row seats are down frequently. How does the cover attach when they're up? Ideally for my use case something would always be on them and fold up and down with the seats. Does it work that way? And if so, how does it attach? Thanks!

These are typically used when the seats are folded down. But to help them stay attached, we'll be using a hook and loop fastener system. We're still in the testing phase to determine which solution works best.

@LinerX … is there a plan to sell a complete rear hatch bundle vs having to purchase the 3 sections separately?
Sure thing!

Addressed some of your questions in the above response
The flap covering the tailgate is built to fold and move out of the way when you close the tailgate. So yes, you can simply close it.
Our cargo liner is foldable. Please refer to this link for more info: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...ows-cargomat-liners-r1s-r1t.14200/post-350933

great news on the bundle for the rear hatch area. Any idea on cost and availability? Just got my 3row mat set and I like the quality.

Thanks for your very kind feedback. ? It's great to hear that you're loving our mats!

We expect the testing period to be completed in 1-2 weeks, or possibly even sooner. Once the demand for cargo liner settles down, we'll start taking orders for the bundle as well. Thanks!

Will the car seat tether points be covered on these mats as in the pictures, or will there be cutouts/holes for car seats?
