While this isn't the most exciting spot, it's the one that got me to place my reservation a few weeks back! Sorry no interior shots as I didn't want to get in way of the employees who were standing near by.

I've been spotting the R1T's quite often around Orange County and the desert but never got to see them up close. Well while out for coffee (Common Room Roasters, so Rivian employee's enjoy local coffee roasters, major +1) I was able to compare my TRD Pro to the R1T and immediately fell in love.

Another thing I loved was the first image on their website was of mountain bikers. Excited to see these start hitting the roads hopefully near the original date they said.

We went with Limestone / Ocean Coast Adventure Package R1T w/ camp kitchen option

*sorry for any grammar mistakes, currently recovering from a concussion*

This may be the most helpful picture if the R1T I've seen. Thanks for pulling your truck up next to it!

Did you get a sense that the R1T was much wider than the Tacoma? Hard to tell with the angles.

It is. I'm sure they said it is wider than a Tundra even.

It is definitely wider than my Tacoma which I am happy with as we feel quite cramped in the Tacoma on our long drives, especially when loading up for camping. But with that said the first thing I noticed wasn't the fact that it was wider, I think they did a great job on proportions (although that could be due to the camo wrap).

Will try and get more side by side shots next time I run into one.

yeah, I was more curious if you could easily tell in person. I find Tacoma's to be a bit narrow as fromwherever noted. I keep walking by Tacomas and F150's trying to visualize the width.

I do this with almost every SUV I encounter. Always compare and wonder "is the R1S smaller/larger/the same size as this one?". The struggle is real ?

Looks like the cab on the Rivian is sizably bigger than the Tacoma. That, plus probably better interior space due to battery below the floor, I will assume that the R1T should be more comfortable than the Tacoma. I always feel cramped when I ride in a Family member's Taco. It feels super inefficient in terms of packaging.

Unlike the OG Taco, which is the most efficient way of delivering a tasty, balanced combination of meat, veggies and flavor in one bite.

This is a great (and probably only) opportunity to share with anyone who'll listen that I think Tacoma Taco is a great name for a Taco spot either in Tacoma or for Tacoma fans or both. Your sign could be one of these deals:

The family member that owns the Tacoma, lives in Tacoma. Tacoma-ception.

I was curious about the difference in height between the two vehicles. The Rivian, on 20 inch tires, is supposed to be 73.1 inches high in sport mode. The newer Tacomas are are supposed to be 71.8 inches.

Then, I looked up the tires, and realized this R1t has 22 inch sport tires. So, doing the math, the two vehicles should be about 3.3 inches apart in height, which seems close to what we're looking at here.

Of course, I'm assuming that the Rivian hasn't been raised or lowered from sport mode and fromwherever hasn't fiddled with the suspension on his Tacoma.

These are good pictures to see. Next time I'm in the Toyota dealership, I can walk around a Tacoma with some idea of how much bigger an R1t will look.

22" tires are 1" smaller diameter than the 20" which translates into .5" less ride height.
73.1 - .5 = 72.6
72.6 - 71.8 = .8"

Not sure how you got to 3.3" difference

My bad. I was assuming they were bigger.

So, I wonder why there is so much difference between these two trucks? They really shouldn't be far apart in height.

I can confirm that my suspension is stock & my wheel/tire set up is the same size as stock as well.

It seems like the R1T is a tad lower than the top of my roof rack, which is about 2.5".

Of course it depends on what suspension mode you're in.
