  1. Update - DCE Rock Sliders stress test -- weight bearing and being jacked up (videos added)

Hey @DCE , do you guys have further videos/pictures/media of the rock slider performance taking a full load or in harder offroad situations? Are the jack locations different, or do completely lose the use of jack pucks in this case? Also, is the R1S sliders available immediately?
  2. Megawatt™ Rock Sliders for R1T. Coming soon to Electruck4x4.com

Is it possible to take a picture and show the underside of the rail and step? Thanks!
  3. Passenger side lower than driver side.

I've had a heavy lean that came and went. I've seen it come and go with car reboots.
  4. R1S Dimensions & Measurements: Cargo Area, Trunk, Frunk, Storage Volume

Apples to oranges comparison in the aforementioned article. That said, it is less than the telluride behind the 3rd row. Telluride is smaller behind 2nd and 1st row by a tiny amount not counting the bonus space below the floor. But the article itself is deliberately under counting versus...
  5. MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL BROKE OFF (in Rivian R1T)!!

I'm not saying that this is the case, but breakaway and collapsable pedals are an intentional safety design element in modern vehicles. It'd be interesting to see who designed this part since most of this type of stuff is likely an off-the-shelf component.
  6. Sizing it up.. my power cooler arrived.. ICECO GO20 Dual Zone

Yeah, true. But then keeping the 400v HV battery draining while on standby seems very inefficient. This is really there to keep the cooler running while the car is off and we're out on a hike, eating lunch, at the beach, etc
  7. R1S mules - what are they testing?

I came here to say this. A ton of people (not all) don't realize that a wheelbase change effectively changes the handling characteristics of a vehicle entirely. There was one case years ago where Consumer Reports tested the stability control of a truck, and it would constantly break the...
  8. Sizing it up.. my power cooler arrived.. ICECO GO20 Dual Zone

Haha..no worries. I assumed it would be the same, but when battery drain was insane, i then tried the different combos. 12v DC input-->battery that's native 12/24v DC --> 12V DC operated fridge is as good as it gets.
  9. 3rd Row Design / Cargo Area Photos?

Yeah, but at that point, there was no indication if the design was finalized. There has been many features that have "shifted" a bit from proto builds to GA. This was one of the things that actually mattered to me since we'll ocassionally use the car for skiing (if we don't use the R1T).
  10. 3rd Row Design / Cargo Area Photos?

I mean, anything has to be better than the XC90 3rd row. you might as well be sitting on the ground there...
  11. 3rd Row Design / Cargo Area Photos?

at the 27 second mark, you can actually see the 40-20-40 seatback split mechanism in the video for a split second. It slides and the seatback tilts forward.
  12. Sizing it up.. my power cooler arrived.. ICECO GO20 Dual Zone

@kylealden and @Zac I actually used multimeters to check the efficiency, but I found that the Dometics were significantly more efficient using the 12v DC daisy chain vs plugging in the cooler at 110 AC, which requires conversion. At 110AC, they were pulling 25-30w baseline, vs .5-1w baseline...
  13. Sizing it up.. my power cooler arrived.. ICECO GO20 Dual Zone

I bet you daisy chaining a battery generator that's small (like this one that's 129 on amazon right now) would work: We do this all the time with our dometic and our 12v outlet in the trunk already when we go on road trips. I would assume I would need it again for this application. Since...
  14. Kia EV9 Starting at $50K in 2023

I'm guessing AWD w/ at least 300bhp and 300 mile range would be approx 65k. Kia currently sells 2WD and AWD variants, as well as standard and extended range battery variants of the EV6. I imagine this will be the same in this case.
  15. Current Tesla Owners: Moving to Rivian

exactly this. We passed on an X given the chance due to its weird shaping. With kids, we wanted the square back and 3 rows and the Mercedes SUV (GL/GLS) was much more spacious from a practical perspective . It’s been proven in our trips and such to be the right decision. The Rivian R1S is...
  16. Sneak peek Xpel Stealth PPF Wrapped Launch Green R1T

Wohoo! Even simple dirt trails are fun. That said, I also am using PPF because my kids clomp around with ski boots and lean their skis against the car all the time in the winter. We also park and drive around the city all the time. scratches galore
  17. Sneak peek Xpel Stealth PPF Wrapped Launch Green R1T

When the car runs up against brush or tree branch.
  18. Sneak peek Xpel Stealth PPF Wrapped Launch Green R1T

But that's the point, people liked the vinyl wrap; but are poopooing on PPF. I'm going to PPF because I don't want pinstriping when I drive it offroad. Even forest service trails sometimes lead to pinstriping
  19. Sneak peek Xpel Stealth PPF Wrapped Launch Green R1T

For those complaining, how is this different than the original Rivian wraps that people were going gaga over?
