My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
The way the chart is organized in the lede image hurt my brain for a minute. But overall this is very interesting. Need to watch the video to understand more about the environment they tested in.

Additional data points from me..

F-150 Lighting SR Pro lifetime avg was 2.3mi/kWh (6,000 mi)

F-150 Lariat ER lifetime avg is 2.0mi/kWh (5,000mi)

R1T lifetime avg is 2.15mi/kWh for me. (9,000mi)

About 7% better, and the R1T just does better the faster and further I go.

On road trips the Ford consistently drops to 1.6-1.8mi/kWh at 70-80mph while the R1T can cruise comfortably at 2.5mi/kWh+ and up to 3.5mi/kWh on conserve at those same speeds.

It does flip with a trailer though. With my 25’ travel trailer (Hi-Lo) in tow the Lightning gets ~1.3-1.7mi/kWh while the R1T with the same trailer gets ~1.0-1.3mi/kWh.

These results are spoken to pretty clearly through the EPA ratings. The Ford gets its rating through the city number which is a little deceiving because who wants to drive 400 miles around in a city before recharging?

The rivian is far more efficient at highway speeds.

But if this test was repeated in Uber service around the city all day or in typical taxi configurations the Ford would win.

Pretty decent video where he did an admirable job trying to isolate as many variables as he could to make it apples-to-apples. He does emphasize that the R1T mileage gap (beating the Lightning) was largely related to the application of the Conserve model. Lighting doesn’t have that equivalent setting.

It's likely a combo of conserve and wind.

What I miss from the Tesla is the ability to have trip energy where you can see the efficiency over miles, and you can adjust how many miles. The Rivian is fixed at one (15 miles) and doesn't really tell you what the rated amount is for the mode you're in.

It also doesn't have a efficiency number that automatically resets upon charging like Tesla.

I also wish Rivian had a Rear Wheel burn out drive mode to counter all the conserve mode highway driving I do. :)

This was the extended range battery (or whatever Ford calls it) - Tom said he thought the available battery size was rated at 131kWh (IIRC) for the Ford, versus the Rivian's 125 to 129 (or so) available kWh (not officially stated by Rivian).

My ER Lariat Lightning has averaged 2.8 miles per kWh over the first 5,000 miles or so. Medium-footed driver. 80% city, 20% highway. I get roughly 350 miles per charge. Ridiculously efficient for such a large vehicle.
