Careful, by then Munro would've stripped the R1 down to the bare bones??? I cannot imagine being a current owner and putting up with this. Which is why I’m fine waiting until 2024

Make it a $1.....!!!!!Maybe the real reason we don't have tank turn yet is Rivian intended on sticking it behind a paywall.
Edit: 50 cents per full revolution!
We'll all be here.....the closest thing to making folks feel like members is probably the Hub. the one in Venice is pretty cool but honestly its not that much different that going to a car dealer except you dont feel any pressure because they dont have vehicles on the lot to purchase. and once you purchase, why would you visit the Hub?
membership, or community, up till now is really only taking place on forums like this, social media and Rivian Stories and thats all customer driven. i can see why Tony C. leverages RS to share info because all the heavy lifting is done by those guys and the community.
hopefully Rivian have something substantial to share on 1/16/23 about Membership to get many of us back on board cause this latest email was yet another PR disaster.
Damn politicians!!!!He was a Pol Sci major and worked for a Senator. It's not that far off![]()
By the looks of the neighborhood.. most of the "adventure" probably happens after the sun goes down.Just adventurous modern art
I don't see what the concern is. They will continually update and improve the base vehicle for free through OTA's. They will also, in parallel, develop features that will be charged for. This has already been hashed out and they have already said that baseline OTA's would not be part of the Membership or subject to a subscription. It's up to them to decide which things need to be part of the base OTA's to keep the vehicle competitive, and which things there is a market to charge for. But everyone can rest easy with faith that the market will dictate where all that falls. To date, they have determined everything has been a necessity for everyone and not worth charging for. To be clear, they can NOT take something already on the vehicles today and put it behind a paywall (other than the previously disclosed LTE service)My concern is this: " "As our membership grows, we’ll continue adding benefits, including drive modes, enhanced vehicle capabilities, in-cabin content and gatherings at Rivian spaces and events. Once you get your vehicle, membership will be complimentary for a trial period. After that, you can opt into paid membership. View terms and conditions."
When they advertised this: https://stories.rivian.com/vehicle-technology-innovation
Entitled pre order holders....wow, very eloquent u r.Boo hoo. You were never promised anything. Sure the membership was advertised but companies, particularly startups, have to evolve and make changes at a rapid pace in order to succeed. I'd rather they make these small changes and continue to adapt than try to stick to every little thing they thought up in the beginning to keep entitled pre-order holders and owners happy.
It's all relativeI guess they didn’t mean it.![]()
All the signs were there from the startOr this.![]()
They put this in their IPO documents:Wonder if this is also going to not be true![]()
Our Climate Commitment
Responding effectively to climate change requires collective action and urgency. We believe we have a responsibility and opportunity to play a role in the global economic transition to net zero emissions. We aim to:
•measure and report GHG emissions annually;
•implement decarbonization strategies in line with the The Climate Pledge through real business change and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewables, designing for sustainability, and other carbon abatement strategies;
•power our operations with 100% clean, renewable energy over time; and
•take actions to remove any remaining emissions and/or neutralize them with quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to become carbon neutral.
They did, and it was/is free, but said it wouldn't be forever. Nothing in the segment is not true regarding the charging. The rest of it jumped the shark a bit though, it never materialized.I guess they didn’t mean it.![]()
They just reiterated that position in the update email, that additional products and services will be offered for a premium in the future. What's controversial?Or this.![]()
