Curious if anyone that signed the binding purchase agreement has a new 2024 window.

Does that impact anything tax related?

Or maybe people want to drop the purchase because of the delay?

If you did sign and do have a 2024 estimate, please post your configuration.

2023 vs 2024 has no impact on binding purchase agreement or the transition rule in the IRA.

I hope you are right. I ordered in early 2021 and my original window was 1H23. Now it's 2024.

Me too. R1T with Max Pack, but not much else. I signed the BPA. Today's estimate is 2024.

I should clarify- the law as written makes no deadline for the transition rule.

If the IRS will invent a deadline, IDK.

We also have a 2024 delivery window. Ours is a standard R1T order, but we do not live in a "correct" area. We are very early adopters. This means nothing. What counts is where you live. We did sign the binding agreement. Will this still give us the 2022 tax credit two year from now?

I'm hoping that my R1T mac pack price of $82K post tax looks spectacular in 2024/5. But predicting the future this decade has been ridiculously difficult. I don't mind too much having the extra time to see if Rivian is viable and for the vehicle to mature.

Many buyers here have not had an EV. I'm past that curiosity stage.

I'll also get in line for the gen 2 F150. The two door, two row short bed F150 is a reasonable R1T alternative. An old price R1T max pack will likely be sellable at no loss.

I am more worried about IRA V2. Not trying to start a political debate, but if the law makers allow the original tax credit before it's exhausted by Rivian, the additional delay would be easier to take. Even with IRA, I won't be totally surprised if IRS ends up invalidating our PBA in 2023.
