I emailed CS this week to note the contrast between Tony's comments and CS comments and ask if they can clarify what's happening with OC/FE. They didn't exactly directly address everything, but said as follows:

1) FE will begin this year (and I'm still "on track" for my Oct-Dec delivery)
2) OC will begin in 2023 (did not mention different dates for wood/vegan leather trim, though I mentioned this in my email)

Make of that what you will!
I am Oct-Dec delivery but have not received ANY correspondence from Rivian
I have OC so why don't they reach to me and see what my options are.

Probably because we’re still in the first third of your delivery window and they have 2 months to get your vehicle to you “on time”.

I’m sure this has been talked about somewhere on the Forums, but maybe you can help. My R1S showed up at the service center on Wed 10/19. I was hoping for a quick turnaround, but was a little bummed by a VM from my backup to my backup guide last night (lots of PTO). She said I should expect good news within 2 weeks???? I would have expected a 3-4 day turnaround? Any guidelines on typical timeframes between Service Center arrival and customer pickup?

The EV-gods are messing with me today as I followed this R1S on a single lane for over miles as I headed home. There was also an R1T four vehicles ahead if the R1S….

Is it just me or does that look like it’s leaning heavily toward the passenger side? (Aka the suspension issues a lot of folks are having) I’d expect it to look like it’s leaning the other way for road drainage.

I was Aug-Sept with FE interior and have had my guide since April. Totally missed the window and my guide has never given me any updates. How hard would it be to send out an email to the people missing their window to give some acknowledgment or guidance? super lame. I'm 5 weeks away from being on this "journey" with them for 4 years. I was hoping not to be part of "The 4 Year Club" oh well

Have you pinged your guide for an update? Tony’s “next month” delivery forecast is starting pretty soon. Though I’m not optimistic it’ll be early in the month.

Stopped by the local SC on a whim this morning - just thinking maybe they had some late week deliveries. AND lo and behold my R1S is on the lot getting a firmware update. Took a close look at the exterior and all the panels and paint look pretty good. Maybe delivery this week?

My guide has said both time I asked, "they are trying to match your vehicle with a VIN number". Too which I ask, so they are making Forest edge interiors and I get the response she doesn't know Blah blah blah. Worthless.

ohh the disappointment…
OK. I'm old and this is going to show it, but isn't obnoxious that all these CS folks at Rivian as well as other places, seem to be required to throw in as many exclamation points as possible, even when they're giving you bad news?
"Dude we have bad news for you but don't worry because sometime in the next 6 months we'll contact you when we have good news!"
Wow, thanks, I'm really excited and now filled with joy after you let me know this

I’ve heard similar things. I think it boils down to the pre delivery inspection length and backlog based on the service center. If it’s a busy site or they are addressing a lot of other issues then the pdi can take a few weeks. I think I’m in the same boat. I haven’t confirmed this yet but I have a suspicion that my vehicle arrived in the batch of cars at the south sf service center last week but my guide gave a window that goes out another few weeks.

Picked up my R1S on Saturday Morning @ the Houston, SC. Very simple and streamlined process.

Over all a very good vehicle and definitely a attention magnet on the road or anywhere outside the garage. Found some issues which I will be creating service tickets later after testing the vehicle for few days. Significant one is the bumpy ride (even on relatively smooth) in Sport/Conserve mode (anything with Low height setting or regen? not sure). Hence will test for few days before creating a service requests.

congrats! I'm guessing/hoping you are testing "camp mode" in this photo based on the height differences between F/R suspension. glad to hear the issues appear minor so far and enjoy the ride!

Thanks. And yes, it was my kid and his friends testing the camp mode and various other features. These elementary school kids knew more about the car and had so many questions than anyone else in my street !
