  1. R2 Reservations List Tracker 📋

Is there a way to know where do we stand in the queue of reservations; My receipt has no order number. I reserved 36 minutes after presentation started (reserve button was not working much early than that)
  2. Saved so much $$$ buying a Rivian 😂

So I paid 40k for my solar panel in 2017 (probably would be 30k these days).; got a 30% tax credit so let's say 30k, I produce about 13,000 kWh per year so after 20 years my cost per kWh is about 15c. or 10c after 30 years. it's slightly cheaper than the 20c I pay from the utility co. but I...
  3. Experience shopping for an EV9 vs R1S - Update

I think you can get the 7500$ credit on lease of R1S Why are you assuming that the sale of your trade-in is considered a 3rd party trade in case of R1S (i.e. sales tax is on the full amount)?
  4. Vampire drain - what's the latest battery % loss people are getting?

I've been loosing 4kWh every night. Strange as I had not noticed it before the latest update which claimed to fix rare vampire drain.
  5. Why the efficiency graph is way off vs real efficiency.

agreed except trip/odo meters should be on center display
  6. Why the efficiency graph is way off vs real efficiency.

If they did not do this that graph would pretty bad if you sit at stop light (zero mi/kwh) or after vampire drain in the first minutes in the morning. I think it is a smoothing function.
  7. High Motor temps after just a few miles?

I have the latest update and at 290F it is orange still (I thought they got rid of the orange)
  8. Why the efficiency graph is way off vs real efficiency.

The best way to check if you can make it to destination is to set it as a destination. I have not checked recently with the R1T but on Tesla is so accurate (takes all conditions ahead) I think Rivian is great too or at least should since they use ABRP. My other gripe is youtubers use that...
  9. Why the efficiency graph is way off vs real efficiency.

I don't know but I tend to use such graphs to drive more optimally and they are reflecting what I was doing for the last 15 minutes not the current efficiency. There are other cases like with Teslas which do not even count the battery heating and climate towards the live or even accumulated...
  10. Why the efficiency graph is way off vs real efficiency.

So I do a 15 minute drive and I reset the trip meter first ...I drive the WHOLE time at above 2mi/kWh and average 2.2 based on the trip meter. However the efficiency meter (at 15 minutes) shows 1.61. To be fair the last data point is close to 2.2. So what I think the efficiency meter does is...
  11. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

So to play devil's advocate: No one should be allowed to plug into a DC charger unless their battery is warmed/preconditioned. These first 15-30 minutes where you are plugged in with little actual charge of the battery cause delays for everyone waiting to charge. 99 percent of the time you...
  12. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

I think I might have found the answer! Basically I don't dispute the need to warm up battery up to around 50F. The way the battery is being heated up is via the inverters/motors and that takes about 9kW to run as far has I have computed and not necessarily the most efficient way to do it...
  13. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

I have QUAD but always use Conserve when preconditioning as it seems to be quicker at warming up battery. Inverters are used to drive motors (and indirectly warm up battery) and not used to put power into battery. In L2 there is an onboard charger that takes 110-220 AC and converts to DC but...
  14. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

No one has explained why It is ok for DC charger to put 45mi/hr (20kW) in a 30F battery BUT not ok for L2 to put a mere 7kW. I have to then assume that DC charging is something I should NOT do unless I arrive there with a 50F battery (i.e. precondition).
  15. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

Most folks watched the Tesla debacle in Chicago last week. That's all what my non EV friends bring up now. Try to explain that you plug your car in and after many minutes you have not added miles. Also you can't precondition by setting a L2 charger as a destination. Many L2 chargers are at...
  16. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

My point on this thread is I can go down the road to DC fast charger and start charging and add miles immediately. See attached I start with same battery temp (47F) and it immediately puts 45mi/h at 27kW until the battery reached 50F (took 8 minutes) Note that in both case (7kW L2 and DC...
  17. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

I now tried on other L2 charger at my garage which is L2 30A output: I started at 47F battery and it took 7 minutes to start adding miles into the car! Note that during the first 7 minutes it actually LOST miles to charge battery (-0.5kwh)
  18. Rivian BREAK IN caught on gear guard camera video

    vampire drain costs $$$
  19. L2 charging (220v/12A) ...Why is it warming battery for 30 minutes before starting to add miles?

30 F is NOT cold! Hey I WAS driving the truck for 20 minutes before I started my L2 session and during that drive I did not see the truck warm the battery (looking at motors temps). Again 30F is NOT that cold. My dispute is that I can go to DC charger and it will take 24kW in right away vs...
